Skip Bayless and 100,000 Change.com signers are calling for a boycott of games this NFL season if Colin Kaepernick isn't signed. Director Spike Lee is planning a pro-Colin rally in front of NFL headquarters on August 24.
Kapernick, the seven-year veteran quarterback, caused controversy last year by remaining seated or kneeling during the National Anthem, declaring, "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color."
He choose to opt out of his contract with San Francisco in March and has remained unemployed since.

UNR should be ashamed

Skip Brainless exemplifies everything wrong with what passes for sports journalism these days.
The article said Harbaugh was interested because Flacco isn’t 100% from a practice injury, but the owner vetoed the idea. But a few blacks are still pushing the idea, wanting to get K there to agitate for the Freddie Gray BLM hogwash.
Kaepernick only became black when he got benched with the Niners. When things were going good he didn’t have a problem with his biracial background, and never talked about race. He went to the race card when he lost his job. It’s as simple as that and he knows it. Shame on him.
Did Skip check with Tim Tebow?
The NFL... which is 70% black... is racist... against blacks. SMH
Kaepernick has gone 3-16 as a starter since Harbaugh left. He got sacked 50% more often than his backup, Blaine Gabbert, behind the same O-Line (9.6% of drop backs vs 6.4%). He turns 30 this season. Most importantly, he brings in a calculation that no NFL team wants to consider: even IF he brings in more wins (not exactly a guarantee, since he is 3-16 since 2014), are those wins worth losing 10-20% of my fan base? Colin will not bring any team a Ring, but even if he did, would THAT be worth losing 10-20% of the fans? The calculus simply isn't worth exploring. A 3-16 QB who is turning 30 is almost certainly not worth that huge gamble. THAT is why NFL teams are not looking at him. It has nothing to do with his skin tone (which is far lighter than most NFL black players).
Or the Browns...
For a brief period at the beginning of the 2013 season...his third season...he looked like he was worth a big-time contract (the game against Green Bay). Over the whole season of 2013....if he had stayed at that level...things would be different today.
But you look on at 2014, and 2015...he is simply an average quarterback at best. Whatever drive he had in that one single season of 2013...came and went.
Which country would he stand up for?
Jeff George? In the same sentence as Tim Tebow? Really? George had a million dollar arm and ten cent head. He couldn’t lead a one man circle jerk. He was a prototype for Jay Cutler, only worse.
I know, I know... but that’s also my point! He was a guy with skills that never got rehired. Huh, wonder why THAT was?
Let’s unpack this situation:
We have a former starting QB who will have to be hired as a backup QB. Ignoring the fact that some reports indicate that this player expects $$ beyond what backup QBs get; let us not forget the headaches that result from a starting QB looking over his shoulder. This is a REAL problem on a football team; it can divide your offense, causing split loyalties among receivers, RBs, etc. Historically, the best backup QBs have been those players on the back end of their career; they know the offense and almost function as quasi coaches.
A younger quarterback who still believes he should start will simply undermine the starter; it is human nature.
Now, add to this that this same younger quarterback is a public relations nightmare...a rebel WITH a cause. Imagine the headaches from the police that provide security for the game & venue. No military color guard at the games? How about the old money holding the luxury box memberships? You think they’re gonna be digging this cat?
No sane front office takes this on, unless pressured by the league.
There is no good outcome for them.
Did you forget to include the NRA?
At least Tebow hired a QB coach and worked on improving his passing skills. Kapernick cannot be serious about playing because he has done nothing to turn himself into an NFL style dropback passer who can read defenses or find an open receiver.
First time through a season he was the Wonderboy. Second Time, hmm..., defenses start to figure you out. Third time, defenses start to force you into their game and away from your's. Fourth time and beyond, defenses have you pegged and if you cannot adapt, you're toast.
Same thing in other sports. New kid tears up league...scouts locate his weakness..."Hello bench."
Mix in being a jackass and your name doesn't begin with Mr. It begins with Former.
Yep - he simply made himself more trouble than he is worth.
This has been posted soooo many times. It ain’t interesting it never was. Boring crap about a second tier QB who cannot win
Who cares?
Good!
