President Donald Trump believes that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell did not do everything possible to pass an Obamacare replacement bill. When reporters asked Trump why he continued to batter McConnell despite support for the Senate Majority Leader from his Republican colleagues, he replied shortly, “Don’t make anything of it, we should have health care approved.”
He hinted that McConnell should have threatened to remove Sen. John McCain, Sen. Lisa Murkowski, or Sen. Susan Collins from their chair positions in the Senate to force them to vote for the health care bill.
“He should have known that he had a couple of votes that turned on him and that should have been very easy to handle, whether it’s through the fact that you take away a committee chairmanship or do whatever you have to do,” Trump said, offering advice for McConnell.

I’ve made a living in sales, his body language and actions are that of a weakling, to say nothing of his negative speech. If he talks about a bill, it’s always about how difficult it is to get things done. As a ballplayer, I sure as hell didn’t walk up to the plate thinking about how hard it was to keep from striking out!
Compare his talk to Harry Reid. The Dems would take every lever of power away from anyone that dares to oppose them, don’t give a damn about discussion, etc.

Maybe but with 10 Rat Senators in Trump states up in 18 that would be a pretty big gamble. I think if Mitch threatened Murkowski that night he could have turned her. The other 2 no. I don’t think Mitch was willing to do it. He was/is not anxious to give any kind of victory to Trump.
I don’t think Trump made a strong case for why this bill was so much better than the godawful ACA. How could he expect strong public support, and hence pressure on GOP dissidents if the contents were largely unknown?
Obviously low T, but he hangs on to Elaine Chao, and has been married to her for over 20 years. Go figure.

McCain has been for repeal for a long time before Trump was elected.
- Senate version wasn’t that hot
- no guarantee the Senate version passes the House.
- probably should have taken Planned Parenthood out of the bill to get Collins & Murkowski - McCain wouldn’t be needed.
In order to do that, we would need “closed Primaries”, and the repukes don’t want that.
If that’s how you feel then I guess you stand with McCain, Murkowski and Collins. In other words, you are a democrat.
He probably pays men to come over and he watches.

One of the best things Trump can do at this point is to strategically run against Congress and point out their inaction.
Frame it as working against the interests of the American people rather than making it a personal fight.
Don’t overplay it however because he will need them especially with the burgeoning NORK crisis.
So, don't blame the voters anymore. Blame the entrenched government that isn't going to be swayed by elections.
Well, why don’t you tell me the main features of the bill. I haven’t seen them discussed much, here or anywhere else.
I would have been fine with repeal and return to pre 2009 law, preferably with a rider making Congress subject to the same rules as the rest of us, but you can call me a Dem if you wish.
A handful of Mitch’s establishment cronies subverted the will of the rest of the party. This reflected poorly on the rest of the party. News stories say GOP lacked the will to follow though on their promises, while in truth it was a few GOPe liberals that ruthlessly cling to power. Trump is right and I agree 100%. They gotta go. They are a cancer in the party.
Not only did he fail to make a strong case to repeal ObamaCare, but he was all over the map with his public statements and actions. First he held a Rose Garden ceremony with the House leadership after they passed their version of the repeal/reform bill ... then he came out a month later and said he wanted the Senate bill to be “less mean” than the House bill. WTF? LOL.
No, not at all. The Senate passed full repeal numerous times. The voters then voted for the Senators who had passed full repeal. Now they won't do a full repeal.
The blame his with the lying Senators.
