A schoolgirl prank gone gruesomely wrong left an 11-year-old Bronx girl hospitalized with severe facial burns and her rage-filled mom bent on revenge.
Relatives of hospitalized Jamoneisha Merritt called Thursday for arrests in the scalding of the girl at her friends Bronx apartment.
The victims mother Ebony Merritt appeared outside the home of Shernett Panton and her 12-year-old daughter Aniya Grant Stuart, spewing obscenities and threats.
Im going to cut your face, you f---ing b---h! Merritt screamed at Panton. Im going to burn your f---ing house down! You let this happen to my daughter!

“The indignant parent, in her rant earlier in the day, made it clear that she blamed Panton for the burning.
You wanted her to burn so shed look like an ugly b-—h like you, Merritt screamed.”
Prank? Really!

Start with a consonant.
Add random vowels.
Continue until you reach the chosen number of syllables.
End with -sha for girls or -arius for boys......................

They aren’t making fun of her in particular, but rather the general practice of generating these names.

How could pouring boiling water on someone's face possibly go right? Crikey!

12 years old. They can do incredibly stupid things. You can do the damage of an adult with the conscience of a child.

Jambon is the French word for “ham”. A very unfortunate choice of names on the part of this mother.

Are we really reaching the point in our lack of humanity that we criticizing this girl’s name or home life?
An innocent child’s life changed forever at a slumber party. Show some mercy on this baby.
You make a valid point. But we must realize the culture that gave her that name and that home life must be acknowleged. A weird abnormal culture produces stuff like this.

It’s a mix of all the possible baby daddies with “sha” added at the end, so nobody feels left out.

Oh my. That poor girl. I hope it didn't hit her eyes. I'll pray for her.
And her Mom.

Black people with normal names = likely to be regular folks
Black people with wacky names = likely to be hood rats
My message to all black parents: Do your kids a favor and give them names that can be attributable to any race and sound like a regular American name. Nobody in Africa is naming their kids the wacky ghetto names that often get described as being ‘African’. Mr. Mbutu almost certainly isn’t naming his kid Quantravious Ja’Quan in his remote village. That’s just my 2 cents.

I understand and agree with your point, Wiggen. If I was hearing the case I certainly wouldn't convict her of attempted murder or even attempted manslaughter, but I think this is more than just an "assault" ... but perhaps under state law that is the proper charge.
Prayers for this seriously injured young girl to recover completely with as little physical and mental discomfort as can be provided. Very sad all around, indeed.

I had to read it twice. When did pouring boiling water on a sleeping person constitute a “prank”?
That’s aggravated assault.
