US could wipe out North Korea in 15 minutes, says Gen. Tom McInerney

FOX NEWS - Retired Gen. Tom McInerney on Monday said the United States has the capability to take out every city in North Korea, if Kim Jong Un were to fire artillery into Seoul, South Korea.

“If he gets our full nuclear retaliatory capability, within minutes after one round going into Seoul, there will be nothing left,” McInerney told Liz Claman on “Countdown to the Closing Bell.” “If you go to Airborne Alert—we used to call it “Chrome Dome”—with nuclear weapons and then we start building up our other forces, et cetera, he will not last 15 minutes.”

The Hermit Kingdom announced Monday it will take “thousands-fold” revenge against the United States after the United Nations imposed new sanctions on the communist country on Saturday. The resolution, approved unanimously by the Security Council on Saturday, comes as a result of Pyongyang’s repeated ballistic missile tests and efforts to develop a nuclear warhead. The sanctions are aimed at the country’s economy, including stopping the expansions of joint ventures and the exports of coal, lead, lead ore, iron, iron ore and seafood.....

Yes I think we should have some Neutron Warheads to deploy, unfortunately Clinton had them all destroyed.

“Don’t we have artillery that will fire small atomic weapons??”

There was one (155mm, `Long Tom’?) on a hill off Ft. Riley Blvd on the way from Manhattan, KS to Ft. Riley, or vice versa, many years ago.

And now for something completely different—the Army issued a nuclear hand grenade for a while, but with that blast radius there was a Silver Star pre-wired to the pin.

What American President wants several million corpses of women and children on his record? Its a puzzlement.

I can think of maybe six who had no problem with abortion on demand by millions of white American women.

I don't have any idea of the number of people of faith in NK.

I expect they are pretty ruthlessly suppressed because any belief in a higher power threatens the grip of government.

Maybe just making the peninsula Korea instead of north and south and let the successful people of the south save their northern brothers.

Maybe logical people will realize that it’s better to have several million corpses of NorK women and children than the same number of corpses of American women and children.

It shouldn’t be a worry.

Norks have 14,000 artillery pieces that can hit Seoul. Dug into mountains along the border. USAF ordered GBU 57 massive ordnance penetrators just for this. 30,000 lb bombs. B2s bring them, Norks can’t see them.

There are 3 SSGN subs lurking off the coast. Each filled with 150 Tomahawk missiles carrying 1,000 lbs of high explosive. 550 mph. Too close for Norks to react to.

There are B1-B heavy bombers that have just been shifted to Guam.

And this is just what’s been released publicly.

This won’t remotely be a fair fight. Norks will be blinded in the first minute. Their pre-positioned weapons will be destroyed in the opening salvo. All with conventional weapons. They won’t be able to fight and if they try they will get slaughtered. Kim is a delusional fool, not sure that his generals are as stupid.

The goal isn’t to kill everybody. Just to destroy the Norks ability to fight.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Davy_Crockett_(nuclear_device)

I believe you’re thinking of the Davy Crockett which was a warhead launched from a recoilless rifle.

There isn’t a nuclear warhead hand grenade sized.

There are a lot of preconceived notions about the use of nuclear weapons that just are not valid.

Second: When you have a dictator that fancies himself as some sort of god, you had better bring your “A” threat and be prepared to back it up.

Third: You don’t risk a million or more Americans on the chance that Who-Flung-Dung will not make good on his threats.

Fourth: Iran is watching. NK needs to bring all of their nuclear capability to the port for loading on U.S. ships or fry. The same with Iran.

Fifth: Why nukes with NK. Because a lot of their stuff is inside of granite mountains. And because Who-Flung-Dung may retaliate to any conventional strike with nukes. Don’t offer up that chance.

Six: Japan will get some fallout, but unlike our snowflakes they are not going to panic. Been there, done that. Some of which was quite recent.

i used to believe that fear mongering “fallout” stuff. but its not true. Nagasaki and Hiroshima are beautiful cities today...the US and Russia used to test gigantic hydrogen bombs above ground, and the fallout never bothered anything...all alot of hype.

We have the best missile technology in the world. We have perfected solid fuel boosters capable of ICBM delivery. NK is far and away from that technology.

Silos really only provide protection from the weather. NK’s problem is that for many, many years they can only launch liquid fuel ICBM’s. Truck launched with extended fueling times and easy to damage.

Sure, we have subs on station now, on both side of NK that would crater every base and airfield they have. Not to mention all of the artillery on the border.

Sure, it would not be much of a fight.

I hope we have learned that winning the peace would be much more difficult.

“North Korea is not the Hill for China to die on.”

Exactly. China has become since 1993 a major economic player. They went in 20 years from poverty to 600 million living in middle class status.

North Korea is of little value to them.

The point is that it’s swagger, even though they know that to actually do it would suck.

I was just wondering what it would do to SK’s water supply.

I suppose after saving the country and really the world from NK’s madman the Left would talk only about Trump and global warming.

Maybe someone already responded- but you did read the part where “it would take 15 minutes”?

Truly an expensive quarter hour, but much better millions of North Koreans than US, S Korean Japanese or other millions. I pity the millions of NORKS who would bekilled/maimed and displaced while there foolish and insane leadership runs them through the gauntlet of nuclear defense strikes... The winds blow east ward over the N Pacific/Arctic, so well delivered air bursting nukes would be rather mundane for the rest of the world- fallout would be minimal.

We are not actively seeking to bother DPRK, so why have they been/are swearing to toss random nukes into our countryside?

Liberty, even in our distressed condition, is a threat to totalitarianism everywhere....

A benevolent Dear Leader replacement might be the only thing they could understand, where they are. I think Iraq taught us that wishing a full fledged liberal democracy on a people still too stunned to grasp it is simply a mistake.

The point being, however, that we’d want a place where the Christian gospel could be expressed. And most South Koreans, if picked for the replacement Dear Leader, would be fine with this.

And we’d probably want to send in scads of smartbombs too, to try to minimize the incoming to Seoul from Norkieland.

If Seoul is not civil defense minded by now — in the way that we were during the bad old days of the Cold War — it never will be. It needs to be able to hole up at a minute’s notice.

Hindsight being 20/20,it would have been proven a genius move to not only destroy North Korea but also take out China. It would have prevented what we have today and the inevitable war with China tomorrow. I also believe Patton should have been able to kick the Russians back to their borders in WWII. I have very little fondness for Truman or Roosevelt who put the USA in a very precarious post war position that is nagging us today.

Well, fallout killed half the cast and crew of a John Wayne movie, THE CONQUEROR, because they filmed it downwind of the Nevada Test site, where the US detonated 14 atomic bombs in the air the year before.
