Calexit Group Says It’s Time for Californians to ‘Take Back Those Tax Dollars’ From the U.S.

**SNIP**

However, the group and other supporters of Calexit believe such financial risk would be worth it, particularly given that California’s political leanings are so at odds with the current administration and that California sends more tax dollars to the federal government than any other state.

“We feel that California has been neglected and left out of the political process for many, many decades,” Gonzales told the Bee.

“With current politics the way they are, clearly there’s a recognition that many in the United States have disdain for Californians. They call us ‘out of control.’ So this is a time for us to take back those tax dollars and really unleash the potential California has,” he added.

What about the military bases? Will the military withdraw to Oregon and Washington? Who will pay for all that prime real estate?

China will gladly take over.

California sends more tax dollars to the federal government than any other state.

What a meaningless horse manure statistic. They have more population than any other state. They have more millionaires and billionaires than any other state.

I'd also wager that they suck more tax dollars, including non-defense related dollars from the federal treasury than any other state.

Interesting. Out-of-control FEDGOV leviathan is ripping off many states.

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance. - Declaration

Those so inclined (if they haven’t already surrendered their citizenship) certainly have the right to take their money and talents into a system of government that more accurately reflects their values.

But the land, water, etc. is ours. The rest of the country is not going to allow a staging area the size and location of California to exist on our West coast.

Depends on the currency exchange rate.

Since the college honcho (Eloy Ortiz Oakley) has deemed algebra unnecessary for higher education, it may be tough on the c/exiters to figger out the answer. /more sarc

No more EBT/SNAP, WIC, Section 8, HUD, Medicaid, Medicare, Obama phones, student loans, student grants, college loans. Just for a start.

“I wonder if they have thought through the effects of a win.”

Nah, liberals don’t think any farther than their initial knee-jerk reaction.

Here’s a funny example: CA imposed buying carbon credits on power plants. Many of the plants don’t have the profit margin to pat these and are declaring bankruptcy. So - no carbon credit money and no taxes from these plants. Others that can pay the credits are taking a serious hit on profits, of course, so their plants are devalued. This cuts the property taxes they have to pay, sometimes by 50%. So less $ for the state.

Did the idiots in Sacramento foresee this? Obviously not, they were too busy patting themselves on the back for finding a way to punish earners. But any conservative could’ve told them what the natural consequence would be.

We can sell the water at a ridiculously high rate. About the same amount as any revenues from CA. BTW, the Hover Dam is not in CA. It powers all of LA and the surrounding area.

The silly environmental restrictions that the Liberals have imposed on CA will come back to bite them in the rear. And ramping up new power plants won't happen over night and will take years.

“There must be a wall built at the CA border.”
Might as well, within a year after the exit, CA will be Mexico’s prison B*tch.

IIRC, geographically most of California is conservative. However, the dense concentration of liberals in the big coastal cities outweighs the lightly populated conservative areas.

If California leaves the US many good conservatives in California will suffer even more than they do now.

Fedzilla spends around $368 bil/yr on CA. That’s an average of about $9,500 per citizen.

Note to CA: Make. Our. Day.

It's just part of their belief in how special they are. I encourage them to continue down that path. There are good Trump folk in the central valley but the rest is a wasteland and we can seriously benefit from the loss of their EC votes.

I was very encouraging to them and then it seemed to die down. I am happy to see it coming up again. And yet, I fear the time is short. Too short for this to take place.

Add the power and water from Black Canyon (Hoover) as well. I saw first hand what proper irrigation would do for agriculture in the areas around Shiraz, Iran before the upheaval.

Let them secede. We can invade them and take them over.

Throw out the Messicans and the illegal Chinese. They can apply for statehood again after we break them up into 3 territories.

I don’t know if I’d even insist on that. Maybe keep some military bases, a la Guantanamo.
