Full title.......................Chuck Grassley warns Judiciary Committee won't consider replacement for Jeff Sessions this year if Trump fires him.................Sen. Chuck Grassley, chairman of the Judiciary Committee, strongly suggested on Wednesday night that he would not allow his panel to consider confirming a replacement this year for Attorney General Jeff Sessions if President Trump were to fire him.

"Everybody in D.C. [should be] warned that the agenda for the judiciary [committee] is set for rest of 2017," Grassley, R-Iowa, wrote on Twitter. "Judges first subcabinet 2nd / AG no way," he added, with "AG" referring to attorney general.

Can I suggest that this is absurd to talk about??? Jeff Sessions is AG. There’s no vacancy in that office. Why would he say there will be no hearing for a replacement??

People don’t have to verbalize every damn thing that pops into their heads.

Besides which, it would only serve to tie the US Senate up in knots, accomplishing nothing. (which is only slightly less than they accomplish now). No one more conservative than Loretta Lynch would ever be confirmed. The Justice Department would be Swamp Things Run Amuck. The very good work AG Sessions is doing with getting criminal invaders out of the US and reversing the invasion of the US would end.

A lot of Deplorables have thought all along that AG Sessions is a necessary part of the Trump equation for us. He and his former aide Steve Miller framed the Deplorable Agenda and articulate it. Without them, our priorities don't have a chance.

If Pres Trump fires Sessions (as opposed to Sessions resigning), the Vacancies Act does not appear to apply so the statutory succession for DOJ would kick and make Rosenstein Acting AG. That would make bad things worse so Pres Trump would then have to fire Rosenstein also (and Rachel Brand would become Acting AG). This would drive the Congressional bed-wetters and never-Trumpers over the edge and possibly lead to a Watergate-style select committee and a new independent counsel law. So I suspect that the WH is thinking that getting Sessions to resign would be much better (as then the Vacancies Act would apply and Pres Trump would have more options for Acting AG and would not need to fire Rosenstein). Either way, he can get an Acting AG in there and not worry about confirmation of a permanent replacement for a long time.

A national Fire Your Senator movement would be a more timely approach as opposed to trying to guide an amendment to passage.

When the Sessions love fest peaks he’ll come out with indictments for Democrats.

Lets quit the crap. President Trump will not fire Sessions and Sessions will not quit. The media has run this crap overboard and even if Trump is irritated because Session recluse himself. It was a bad move by Session and hampered the President in his quest to bring out the truth about all this Russian crap and the Hillary empire.

So keeping Sessions in office, is more important than protecting the presidency??? Much of this mess was caused by Sessions himself, so he has no one else to blame.

The Left is waging war, and Trump has no one on the Right willing to even fight. But hey...Sessions backed Trump early, so lets keep him there even though he’s pretty useless at this point. The same Sessions who can’t even bother to look into why DWS’s brother is handling the Awan case. lol

Sadly, this old bastard is with us (unless Satan takes him sooner) until 2022, and he’s 83 right now. Everyone crows about “ how conservatism is alive in the heartland,” but my take on it is that it’s more that they are brain dead as they keep re-electing this crap. He’s the oldest “repubican” in the Senate. Only Fineswine is older ( by a year), and the next six (6) Senators in terms of age are also “repubicans” Hatch (82), Shelby(82), Inhofe(81), Roberts(80), McCain(80) and Cochran(79), and of all of them, only Urine Hatch is up for re-election next year.

Another GOP anti Trump stab in the back. Grassley had been a continual let down.
