Trump Floats Possibility Of Giuliani Replacing Sessions As AG

President Trump has floated the possibility of replacing Attorney General Jeff Sessions with his steadfast ally Rudy Giuliani to serve in the top Justice Department post, Axios reported Monday.

Trump broached the idea in internal discussions about bringing in and surrounding himself with staunch supporters, sources within the West Wing told the news outlet.

Before The New York Times interview last week, Trump had already expressed anger and frustration at Sessions for recusing himself from the Russia investigation, Axios reports.

Trump, during the interview, opined that Sessions' decision to recuse himself was "unfair" to him and he would've likely picked another person to lead the Justice Department if he had known this is the move Sessions would make.

In a tweet on Monday, Trump went after Sessions, calling him “beleaguered” and questioned why the attorney general and federal investigators are not looking into Hillary Clinton for her “crimes” and ties to Russia.

Marijuana enforcement is a key to getting Dreamers.

There have to be better ways than such fudge. If it were only intended for illegals, that might be different.

Asset forfeiture? What better way to get the Clinton Crime Family Foundation.

A Constitutional way would be better.

Look, I understand that you may be part of the base that could care less about the two gratuitously authoritarian "solutions" above, but you have to understand that there is a tangible segment of Trump's base—including libertarians and other strict constructionists—who are alarmed by this.

It's a fact that Civil Asset Forfeiture has been abused and that it raises real due process questions, and it's also a fact that the federal government is very likely overstepping its Constitutional bounds regarding the marijuana issue as well. Becoming more aggressive on either issue is ludicrous for anyone who truly believes in minimal government, IMHO.

Why give the Left any real ammo with which to accuse the President of being Authoritarian?

Both of the above policies are "out of touch", "old school", and "typical DC", IMHO.

Libertarians and other strict Constitutionalists had enough of an issue with things like Eminent Domain regarding Donald Trump, but if an Authoritarian trend develops towards "solving problems", that's simply the wrong direction. It just smacks of illegitimate "shortcuts" to me, and there's no reason to "go there" in either instance. JMHO.

The administration should address DREAMER and Hillary issues without using policies which go against the grain of the idea of minimal government.

And there's also plenty of potential for the President to expand his base over the next couple of years. These policies can't possibly help with that...

Two Words: Jay Sekulow! He’s already proven he knows how to get the results we need through Judicial Watch, and he’s young and would fight like there was no tomorrow for Trump’s agenda.

One would think Trump could just tell Sessions to start investigating Hillary instead of tweeting about it.

What makes you think he hasn't already?

Show a little insight. Trump makes deals.

You and several others are trying waaaay to hard in your search for explanations. Most of the time, things are just what they appear to be.

My "insight" is that Trump is understandably irate that his campaign and administration is being raked over the coals daily, and Hillary and the Dims seem to be getting off with no scrutiny at all. Hillary did not create those circumstances herself, they came about due to several factors, the totally biased and dishonest media being the biggest factor.

If Trump wanted Sessions to begin investigating Hillary, he should have simply informed him privately.

The Left wants Sessions exactly where he is now. In charge of the DOJ and already gave up most of his power for no specific reason. Sessions may be a great guy. who cares. He has to do the job. Start Grand jury(s) into CF, Hillary, Comey, Mueller, Huma, IT Bros., etc, etc.., etc. DWS should be in this group also. They will scatter like cockroaches and then Sessions could take his time. Needs to go on Offense.

Get it?

Lol, you're the one who doesn't get it. Stop trying so hard.

And just how do you think the president himself might have personally gone after Hillary?

>>But still ..the lack of clinton investigation bothers me<<

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I am sticking by my intuition there is a secret grand jury investigation into Clinton, Rice, Powers, Abedin, Comey, the Muzzie spook and various leakers.

Some people understand Trump and his view of deals. He’s an inveterate deal-maker. Anyone who knows his MO recognized immediately that he was offering Hillary a deal. He thought at the time it would be best for the country. But Hillary turned him down with extreme prejudice. Trump’s reaction is entirely predictable by anyone who understands how he opperates.

Btw, people who understand Trump don’t have to try at all. His actions are as transparent as glass, from the right POV.

John Kerry had the same condition/surgery in a similar timeframe but he managed to run for the presidency in 2004. Running for the presidency is much more taxing.

RUDY, RUDY, RUDY!!

AG Sessions, thank you for your support and service, sir. All that you have done will not be forgotten. But like Spicer, stepped down, please step aside for the next MAGA team member. Wishing you the best in all future endeavors.

What Trump is doing to Sessions is bush league and totally unprofessional. You handle those issues and disagreements in private.

You forgot to show us the links that tell us that Pres.. Trump HASN'T been trying to get thru' to Sessions privately about doing his job...
