Trump Asks Why ‘Beleaguered’ Sessions Isn't Investigating Clinton

President Donald Trump publicly chastised Attorney General Jeff Sessions again Monday, criticizing him for not seeking an investigation of the president's former campaign opponent.

In a morning tweet, Trump questioned why congressional and intelligence committees and the "beleaguered" Sessions are not probing what he called Hillary Clinton's "crimes and Russia relations."

Last week, Trump criticized Sessions for recusing himself from the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Kremlin. Trump told The New York Times that he would not have appointed Sessions if he had known he would step back from the probe.

Last week, Sessions said he had no plans to leave the job.

Anyone know if Trump can order an investigation of crimes committed by the Obama administration?

Sessions is a good man but an AG (especially in these times) he is not.

That's my take too...

The new AG will not be recused so he, not Rosenstein, will be the one to fire Mueller. (Rosenstein could do it now, but will not.). The selection of Rosenstein is another reason Sessions must go.

I don’t wish to mistrust Sessions, but I do now. I am not sure what to think about him.

The things he is doing as far as gangs and stuff are good, but if Trump isn’t in office all of that will be a waste.

Trump needed a fighter AG. The things Sessions is doing could have been handled by others, well maybe, I still don’t think Sessions has drained the swamp at Justice.

Which leads me to, Why Not Jeff? Jeff has lauded and frankly
voiced the “great guy Mueller” is and ignored the RATs Mueller hires.

He appointed that creep RAT Rosenstein. Why Jeff? Sessions knows what this SC is doing is rigged and not Constitutional because there is no crime.

Was Jeff a Deep State plant? I do not want to think that, or was he compromised later?

Seems that nobody is trustworthy. I hope Trump gets rid of any hires recommended to him by Priebus and other GOPe. They are treacherous.

Sessions is not the enemy. He is trying to drain the swamp.

Here are what some of the enemies of Jeff Sessions are saying (go to the articles for the specific accomplishments):

Jeff Sessions has done more damage in his first 100 days than his boss

US attorney general Jeff Sessions may not be part of the biggest investigation in the Department of Justice, but as he reaches 100 days in office, there’s little doubt that he’s had an important impact on the American criminal-justice system—potentially for years to come.

Despite the political turmoil of the Trump administration, Sessions has moved to reverse a tide of progressive reform and to fulfill his boss’s law-and-order agenda, a collection of concepts loosely articulated during the 2016 presidential campaign. Sessions’ biggest actions, from undermining federal oversight of police departments to cracking down on undocumented immigrants, have worried a wide array of lawmakers, law-enforcement leaders, advocates and scientists.

“Of all the cabinet members, maybe even the president, he has to this point had the most significant impact as to policy changes,” said Jesselyn McCurdy, the deputy director at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Washington Legislative Office told Quartz.

Unlike his boss, Sessions is delivering on what he has promised—sometimes on causes he has championed for decades.

“There’s been a great bipartisan movement by organizations on the ground and members of Congress to reform the federal criminal-justice system, based on successes that have happened in the states, but the leader of opposition to that reform was Jeff Sessions, as a senator from Alabama,” McCurdy said. “These are all things that [Sessions], as a criminal justice reform opponent, had on his radar already.

McCurdy said Sessions was “definitely” living up to the ACLU’s concerns, and in some areas, fulfilling the worst-case scenarios.

Jeff Sessions ushers in 'Trump era' at the Justice Department

In just over two months, Sessions has proved to be a central figure in effectuating Trump's vision for America in tangible ways on immigration, crime, police reform and civil rights.

And while the White House searches for new messaging to frame what Trump has accomplished in the first 100 days in office, Sessions has single-handedly managed to make several significant domestic policy changes -- from pressing pause on implementing police reforms to withdrawing Obama-era protections for transgender students in public schools.

His radical transformation of the Justice Department's role is no accident.

Many of the changes Sessions has made thus far track a familiar principle of federalism: the notion that the federal government's powers are limited and it can't coerce states into action. In other words, the federal government should get out of the states' way.

Sessions' critics worry that he is well on his way to undoing many of the major progressive achievements of his predecessors, often by withdrawing from court cases or previous directives that fail to align with his views. Yet Trump supporters cheered Sessions on during the presidential campaign when he said, "the American people are not happy with their government."

Now that Sessions is the nation's top law enforcement officer, his defenders and critics universally agree: he's been busy fulfilling the President's campaign promises and he's just getting started.

No...he stays. He's the only one getting things done. He and his associates work behind the scenes.

He was successful in moving Trump's Immigration forward through the Supreme Court. He got rid of the NY gang.

Working on Sanctuary cities, drug cartels, gun runners...Getting rid of the bad guys.

Hillary....Why waste your time....AT THIS POINT IN TIME....

I’m very disappointed Sessions has turned out to be a wet blanket.

We lost a steadfast conservative voice in the senate and now as AG because he decided to castrate himself.

It’s a massive fall from grace and extremely disheartening. The man has down 1000 things right in his career. It will be this one black mark that seals his legacy.

Hillary has made public admissions of guilt. what more do they need? Comey made admissions of guilt also. He is clearly guilty of “sheltering” Clinton. He made remarks in a press conference on National TV. What would Sessions be looking for? Sessions can’t function since he lost his Bat Decoder Ring.

I believe there have been 4 people around/in re Clinton who’ve died within this past month.

Sessions may not have any live persons by the time he gets around to Clinton.

Mueller is a Clinton fixer for over 40 years.

Rosenstein was a lecturer for the CGI. He was appointed by 0bama on Jan 19th.

You’d think this was all a setup.

Trump said after the election that “Lock her up” was just a campaign slogan and that he did not want the Clinton’s prosecuted.

Maybe the latter, but I never heard “lock her up” used as a campaign slogan. In fact, Trump seemed to go out of his way to join in when people would start chanting that at his rallies.

Not to imply that I DON’T want to see her locked up - I surely do!

If you’re the AG and you’re going to consider prosecuting someone like Clinton, you’ve got to consider all the charges and all the outcomes.

Very true. Look, I’ll admit it - I agreed with Trump when it became obvious that he was going to leave Clinton alone after the election. He clearly didn’t want to tear the country apart by prosecuting his opponent and potentially putting her in jail. He wanted the country to come together and heal, and if it took Hillary retiring to some mansion somewhere for the rest of her days to do that - so be it.

But she DIDN’T retire. And the country DIDN’T come together - and the country DIDN’T heal. So now we find ourselves in a very real cold civil war that one side (that would be ours) seems disinclined to engage in. Well, time to engage in it and bring Hillary up on charges. What are the RATS / media gonna do... get mad at us?

I SHOULD have said:
