Anthony Scaramucci made a positive impression with the media in his first press conference as White House communications director.
Scaramucci spoke confidently from the podium and made an effort to call on as many reporters as possible, before ending the press conference with an air kiss to the media. Many reporters described Scaramuccis performance as smooth, while others praised his comfortable speaking style.
Anthony Scaramucci is showing here why President Trump picked him, The Boston Globes DC bureau chief Matt Viser noted. Smooth and soft-spoken. Lighthearted and optimistic.
CNN anchor Dana Bash described Scaramucci as smooth as silk as a talker.
A very polished performance behind the podium from Scaramucci, observed the Washington Examiners chief political correspondent Byron York. Rare in first 6 months of this [White House].
US News and World Report senior politics writer David Catanese said, IF Scaramucci is this calm and smooth six months from now, itll serve him, the president and the press very well.
Anthony Scaramucci is having a very good, very smooth on-camera debut, said Washington Post reporter Ashley Parker.
Vogue editor Elena Sheppard, complained that Scaramucci is actually terrifying because hes so smooth and good at this.
Los Angeles Times reporter Jim Puzzanghera said Scaramucci walked the tightrope between smooth and slick in his first press conference.
Trump will love this, said Politico White House reporter Josh Dawsey. Scaramucci says he is smart, a good communicator, a brilliant businessman, genuine, a good athlete [and] more.
Scaramucci is doing a good job of channeling Trump but with a dose of self-aware humor and more coherent, said Time magazine political editor Ryan Beckwith.
Scaramucci is way more comfortable talking in front of this room than any other comms person weve seen so far in this administration, wrote CNN White House reporter Kate Bennett

His personality came across to me as very “slick” and people like that have annoyed me for years-——but-——if he can do what Trump wants and do what is needed so-be-it.
.
I preferred the food spicer.
Scaramucci on Chris Wallace this morning = A+!!! New York street fighters not only rock,....they win. I should know...I am one. Scaramucci & Trump....”ACES””!!!
I'd go more with self-assured. He knows what his jobs are. They are to champion the Deplorable agenda and to muzzle the media. I like that he took them to school about how lawyers do not answer hypotheticals, so don't ask them. I'm thinking he's going to train the WH staff to be better at how they express themselves.
His personality came across to me as very slick .

He came across to me as very “smooth” . I like what I’ve seen so far.
He is confident and having been in leadership positions for many years dealing with people at his level I can smell BS at a fair distance.
He handled them like a pro and if he is smooth that means he comes from the heart and is not making it up as he goes
I watched the whole video and keyed on the “press” as they tried to trip him up, he deftly answered and never got flustered
I say Yes!
Was the comment to sarah about hair and makeup a jab or a joke or what..
Libs are taking it as a jab but maybe it was a ny humor joke
I cant figure out what he was doing
“now President Trump needs to replace Sessions”
Bingo!
I can’t watch Chris Wallace anymore. I hope Scaramucci ate his lunch.
Anthony Scaramucci, native New Yorker, speaks fluent Trumpian and is skilled at translating that language into plain English for the common people of the mainstream media.
Actually, many in the mainstream also understand basic Trumpian speech, but insist on interpreting it in interesting ways, that are rarely even remotely accurate.
The job title is Communications Director, after all.
I also liked how in the first couple questions, when a couple of "reporters" (LOL) tried to imply that the White House needed to "right the ship", was "in disarray", and such, Scaramucci, first and foremost, rejected their premise, and the spin they were trying to inject.
He's going to call out the Media for its clumsy propaganda, and I'm sure we'll see Sarah do that too...
re: Sara. CSPAN had an interview with her. She’s a quick learner, totally enthralled by her dad’s political life. I don’t doubt her conservative credentials. Keeping her as Press Secretary builds confidence that Scaramucci will put together a team he can effectively mentor.
Sociopath?
This may be heresy but Sarah Sanders comes across as a bit of a try hard with her contrived poker face. Never been comfortable with her in the role.

I just saw John Dickerson try out strategy with Scaramucci; whining about three “conflicting” tweets on health care Trump put out. Dickerson evidently cannot grasp progression of ideas and action.
After watching Scaramucci, I can understand why Trump wanted him. He’s very good.
Slick???
Uh huh!/?
Seems to me I read (and posted) yesterday that this guy was a bigtime backer of “The Prince of Fools” back in the Coup of ‘08!!!!!!; then switched to “R” again L8R....RINO?/ AINO?
Nobody questions these things????
Slick?
Planet WTF!!!!!!!!!!
Dick Gaines: AMERICAN (NOT AINO)
aka: Gunny G
Semper TRUMP IF We Can keep Him?/!

Scaramucci is respected by the press, in his own right.
The others in training were dear and likable, but amateurs. I liked Spicer very much, but when he went back stage and the dailies stopped, everything went on a slide.
It is Scaramucci that Trump has desperately needed to be in front of the camera, and not Sarah.
Unfortunately, it will remain Sarah who is the face of the White House briefing and not Scaramucci.
Very articulate and knows how to play the mediot games. Strong addition by Trump.
