WASHINGTON President Trumps lawyers and aides are scouring the professional and political backgrounds of investigators hired by the special counsel Robert S. Mueller III, looking for conflicts of interest they could use to discredit the investigation or even build a case to fire Mr. Mueller or get some members of his team recused, according to three people with knowledge of the research effort.
The search for potential conflicts is wide-ranging. It includes scrutinizing donations to Democratic candidates, investigators past clients and Mr. Muellers relationship with James B. Comey, whose firing as F.B.I. director is part of the special counsels investigation.
The effort to investigate the investigators is another sign of a looming showdown between Mr. Trump and Mr. Mueller, who has assembled a team of high-powered prosecutors and agents to examine whether any of Mr. Trumps advisers aided Russias campaign to disrupt last years presidential election.

She still represents him. The fact is that he continues to have issues over his security forms ..and she has said she is still representing him on that. He could have someone else handle it..he chooses to still employ her
Wapo said lowell works for chadbourne so no conflict with mueller on russia
“Sessions is a puzzle. Maybe he is trying to stay out of the line of fire”
Watch his recusal video. He was scared to death. It was not the reaction of a man that had a five minute conversation with a Russian. It was the reaction of a man being Blackmailed. How did Comey know Sessions would recuse himself Fourteen days before he did?
"If"? IF?
Gawrsh for someone that signed up at the freaking height of Shrub's - oderunt vos ignorare media ignore the media who hate you - that's a hell of a lot of memory loss in 14 years. You may want to get that checked out...
I remember g w bush played chess and had a secret plan. How’d that work out? It inflicted Obama upon us.
“...Trump should have fired them all but he hasnt....”
No argument from me, brother... I hear you loud and clear.
Sessions was between a rock and a hard place w/ Trump and the political backfire of abruptly ending an ongoing probe.
That supposes there was an investigation in the first place, yes? And if there is an investigation, he is supposed to steer clear of it when it presents a conflict of interest.
The only way Nifong got caught was by having to put up his evidence. Same goes for any unethical investigator or prosecutor. They are able to drag innocent people through the mud, because the system is designed to drag innocent people through the mud.
Then there is Congress and the press, cheering on the mud dragging, as if it is serious business. No evidence required, just imagination and insinuation.
In the normal course, an investigation is done in secret. The reason for that is to avoid attaching taint to an innocent person. But, in this case, the reason for conducting the investigation in secret facilitates dragging the Trump campaign through the mud. The longer the secrecy, the greater the damage.
Find a way to force the investigation itself into the open. Show the work. Let the public follow along as you subpoena information. Interview the witnesses in public, and so on.
As far as I know, appointing an SC absent a clear allegation of crime, is unprecedented. With Plame, the allegation was illegal leak of NOC identity. With Clinton, it was shady deals in Whitewater land development. With Daforth and the Waco massacre, there was the massacre.
In the appointment on Mueller, there is no allegation that the Trump campaign did anything illegal. NONE. Adam Schiff's fever imagination is not evidence.
Letting this investigation play out "in secret" is giving Adam Schiff and his fellow travelers the stage.
Just sent this to the White House.
Everyone, talk to Trump by going here: https://www.whitehouse.gov/administration/president-trump

Dear Mr. President,
For your review about Mueller:
http://www.aim.org/aim-column/conspiracy-of-silence-about-mueller/
"the FBI learned that the anthrax mailer was an al-Qaeda operative. Under White House pressure, Mueller suppressed this finding and continued to hunt for a domestic suspect. When scientist Bruce Ivins committed suicide in 2008, Mueller blamed him for the mailings, then lied to a Senate committee about it."
". . . Mueller botched the anthrax case by falsely blaming various American scientists for the letters that killed five people and injured dozens."

"Mueller should resign as special counsel. He has a flagrant conflict of interest that disqualifies him from serving. To wit, his personal and professional closeness to Comey. They have long been allies. Comey regards his predecessor at the FBI as a mentor, while Mueller considers Comey his protégé."
"Conflict of Interest Defined: The law governing the special counsel (28 CFR 600.7) specifically prohibits Mueller from serving if he has a conflict of interest. Even the appearance of a conflict is disallowed."
"The same Code of Federal Regulations defines what constitutes a conflict. That is, "a personal relationship with any person substantially involved in the conduct that is the subject of the investigation or prosecution" (28 CFR 45.2). Comey is that person. He was substantially involved in the conversation with President Trump which may be the subject of an obstruction investigation. In fact, the former Director is the only other person involved. There were no witnesses beyond himself."

28 CFR 45.2 - Disqualification arising from personal or political relationship: https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/28/45.2
"At first I was amazed by the continuing cover-up surrounding Muellers terrible record, which also includes letting Islamists rewrite FBI training materials."
So, President Trump has his folks in the Oval Office, Mueller walks in, Sekulow reads the laws to Mueller and Mueller is given the chance to resign. If he doesn't, Trump has no choice but to fire him.
Sincerely,
Art in Idaho

May be Comey directed his buddy Rosenstein to pick Mueller.
Comey went to Mueller for advice before public hearing, do you think both of them should be investigated?
Darn tootin they both should be investigated, big time !
Investigated??? They should be jailed for a time before exile.
Thanks for passing that on!
Yes. Talk about collusion. . and Mueller is actively breaking at least two laws as mentioned above. His findings are null and void because of their collusion. The whole thing was a setup. Comey leaks info to his Law Professor friend at Columbia who leaks to NYT and then calls for a Special Prosecutor? Stinks to high heaven.
Fire them all and start investigations/prosecutions.
And dammit, reopen the Hillary Case! And what happened to the Obama Spying Scandal? The unmasking scandals? The IC Spying collusion with Obama? The Hammer? Weiner's Laptop? Huma's computer? The destroyed phones? The sixteen federal laws broken by Hillary Clinton? The Lynch meeting with Clinton and the Lynch stonewalling with Comey? Susan Rice unmasking scandal?
Investigations for the following: Comey, Clinton, Podesta, Lynch, Mueller, Holder, Abedin, Power, Rice, Mills, Jarrett, Rhodes and other dem operatives. . they've all broken the law. Let's get these investigations going!
You’re welcome. Justice has to be done with these criminals or it will certainly happen again, only worse. . if that’s possible.
Keep repeating this until the cows come home. No alleged crime. No allegation. Nothing. Nada. . And somehow, a Special Prosecutor is named. Insane. Shut it down!
It's as if I get a knock on my door and they say, "Are you Art in Idaho?" "Yes." "I'm here to inform you a Special Prosecutor has been appointed by the Attorney General of the United States to investigate you."
"What for?"
"Well, you see, there really aren't any charges, no allegation you did anything illegal, no crime per se, but we thought you should be investigated." . .
I was just explaining this to people today who said if Trump nothing to hide then don’t worry. I remember reading somewhere years ago the avg American commits 3 crimes a day without knowing it. And the FBI could indict a ham sandwich I’d they wanted to. Innocence is not enough anymore.
He’s not very bright then.
Trump should have Sessions appoint a second special prosecutor to investigate Seth Rich’s death & the DNC server,....it could be broadened to include Clinton fundraising crimes, unmasking for political espionage purposes, the Lynch/Clinton Obstruction of Justice, leaking of classified info out of the Deep State, Mueller & Comey’s ties to the DNC....turn the FBI lose on real criminality....
Fight back by actually going after Hillary/Obama crime.
