Not long after California officially banned state-funded travel to Texas this summer, we awoke in a hotel there, behind enemy lines. It had been decades since my last visit to the Lone Star State; our daughter had gotten an offer she couldnt refuse there from a graduate program. That was the good news.
The bad news was, shed be spending the next several years in a state whose political leaders are pathologically hostile to the blue state where she was born and raised.

I've taken a couple of out-of-town friends with ties to Napa to my favorite winery in Burleson. They aren't wine snobs, and enjoyed the wine we sampled. They also liked the friendliness of everyone there.
Austin and the Hill Country are great areas for wine and craft breweries. I fell in love with Gruene, plenty of shops for my wife and a great wine bar for me. Perfect!!! Lol, Fredericksburg is like that, too, but with more shops and a half dozen wine bars...
Thanks, I feel so much better now, all warm fuzzy. Yikes, I don’t plan on LA maybe Hunnington Beach at best. Will try to stay more in the Mojave area, go visit the joshua trees..
“This woman is certifiable”.
Unfortunately, her daughter probably is too much to the detriment of Texas.
NO! Leave for California and your safe space immediately, run do not walk! Go back to your tofu feed libs.
Texas is quite justifiably hostile to ANY blue state.
I’m glad they didn’t come to FL.
Apologies to TX.

We moved from CA to South Dakota specifically because we didn’t want to raise a child in that cesspool.
“Lol, Fredericksburg is like that, too, but with more shops and a half dozen wine bars...”
My last time in Fredericksburg my alcohol purchases were for mixed six-packs of TX craft brewery beer from a shop on the main drag.
“Pshaw, the libs are willing to sacrifice the future of their offspring to get those of voting age placed in Republican strongholds to shift the tide at the polls.”
This has been going on for years...witness Oregon,Washington,Colorado, Austin, TX, etc. I saw it with my own eyes in the 70’s when Wisconsin state government was infested with Boston pukes.
Actually you and your entire family will be much better off in your tyrannical and socialist paradise of North Korea. Get packin’. GTFO of my country!

There is an excellent chance that she will relate to Texans just fine, and learn that all the slams against red-staters are fiction; and that Southern Hospitality is a real thing, and personal responsibility, hard work and honesty beat California collectivism.
Oh, and that there are places with clean, litter free streets, low crime, and help-wanted signs in store-fronts.
This article has certainly pulled the Texans out of the woodwork ! yee haw has made me hungry for some Texas smoked brisket and potato salad !
Just send your precious spawn to the University of Oregon, then. She will feel right at home there.
Stay the Hell out of Texas.
It is almost impossible to legally own a hand gun in Washington DC.
Murder rates by state have no correlation to the local gun laws. Murder rates are high in socially dysfunctional groups.
St. Louis 59.3
Baltimore 51.2
Detroit 44.9
New Orleans 44.5
Cleveland 35.0
Newark, N.J. 33.0
Memphis, Tenn. 31.9
Chicago 27.9
Kansas City, Mo. 26.4
Atlanta 23.9
U.S. cities with the highest 2016 murder rates
Each of the above cities are hard core democrat cities with a large black population. The real hell of it is, it is mostly blacks murdering blacks. There is a dysfunctional sub group in the mostly non criminal black society that is destroying their own society.
Send her to Oakland if you feel that Texas is so dangerous.
And kommiefornians who have already made the move (and are polluting civilization), move back. You're not safe. Go back to kali and see rainbows and ride unicorns.
Guess your kid better learn to shoot, work, and tell the truth.
