Trump base stands by its man
The Philadelphia Inquirer ^ | July 16, 2017 | Michael Smerconish

Turns out Donald Trump was right when he said he could "shoot somebody and wouldn't lose voters." That was made clear to me after revelations that showed, at a minimum, Donald Trump Jr. was game to collude with the Russians. Whether he did so remains a subject of conjecture, but to any rational observer, this week was the most troublesome since the Russian meddling issue first came to light. Who could have imagined there would actually be an email to someone named Trump offering "very high level and sensitive information" able to "incriminate Hillary" as part of "Russia and its government's support" of Trump over Hillary?

But not even these revelations will impact his standing with his base.

A succession of stories in the New York Times brought these new developments to light. The first reported that Donald Jr. "arranged a meeting at Trump Tower in Manhattan with a Russian lawyer who has connections to the Kremlin." Trump Jr.'s explanation was that the meeting focused on adoption. One day later, the story was more ominous. Turns out that in advance of the meeting, Donald Jr. was "promised damaging information about Hillary Clinton." By Monday, worse still. Not only was the meeting with a Russian national who'd promised dirt on Clinton, but prior to the meeting, Trump Jr. was "informed in an email that the material was part of a Russian government effort to aid his father's candidacy."

That morning, I sat behind my microphone for SiriusXM's POTUS channel and spent about 20 minutes not only summarizing the Times coverage, but also providing balance with reference to a New York Post piece by Michael Walsh that said it was all a "nothing-burger." Once concluded with my monologue, I spied my caller screen....

I know I would stand right beside President Trump and help him ‘Shoot people while standing on 5th Ave’...

There are a lot of questions that need to be answered about the Zero Administration...and until all those questions are answered in a Grand Jury setting only, or going on to trial so the American People can see and hear the whole thing, it's a waste of time...

All these ‘Senate hearings’ are a waste of money, OUR MONEY, they don't do anything but ask ‘soft questions’ and get ‘I don't know’; ‘I can't answer that’; ‘I take the 5th’...so why waste our money, and waste our time for nothing...

Mystery solved? Timeline shows how Russian lawyer got into US for Trump Jr. meeting!

By Brooke Singman Published July 14, 2017

Russian lawyer given special immigration status under Obama!

The Russian attorney whose campaign-season meeting with Donald Trump Jr. has caused headaches for the White House was cleared to enter the U.S. at the time of the visit by the Obama State Department, officials confirmed to Fox News late Thursday.

A brief timeline released overnight helps to resolve questions over how Natalia Veselnitskaya even had legal permission to be in the U.S. And it also shows multiple Obama agencies were involved on multiple occasions in granting access to the lawyer after she was initially denied a visa.

According to the timeline released by the Department of Homeland Security, the Obama Justice and Homeland Security departments granted her a special type of “parole” to be in the U.S. from September 2015 through February 2016 to work on a court case in New York.

After that expired, according to DHS, the State Department issued her a B1/B2 non-immigrant visa in June 2016, according to DHS, just in time for her meeting with Trump Jr., Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner and then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

If opposition research and investigative journalism using foreign sources is “collusion,” then the Democrats are far more guilty of it. And the fact they’re screaming at the top of their lungs over the current covfefe (Russian for “nothingburger”) proves they know it.

It is perplexing....so a lot of details have to be ironed out before acting out the final ending.

THIS JUST IN---EXCLUSIVE: Russian lawyer and Soviet
spy who connived to meet Don Trump Jr schmoozed
Washington elite days later at a private film screening

Russian lobbyist, Natalia Veselnitskaya, held a film screening party at the elite "Newseum" last summer - just after she conned her way into meeting Donald Trump Jr.

"The Magnistsky Act - Behind The Scenes," was screened---- a documentary about the whisteblower who supporters say was murdered to cover up tax fraud---seen as pro-Putin because it suggests death was natural and the tax fraud never happened.

Invitations for the private film screening were distributed by the office of Repub Cong Dana Rohrabacher.

No comment: Newseum declined to say who hired the venue and for how much.

NOTE "Newseum" is devoted to defending and promoting free expression and press freedom.

Hey Mike. You didn’t site the federal statutes that DJT Jr violated.

I’ve been reading all of these, “bombshells” and no one mentioned any federal statutes.

Oh, there’s another problem, Mike. Trump Jr is a private citizen. Not a federal employee.

The msm is totally discredited.

Russia, Russia, Russia; it’s all about distracting from the Trump agenda and the Trump accomplishments.

Trump: reduce regulations...
Democrats: No, “better collusion” (who is “usion” btw?)

Trump: repeal Obamacare...
Democrats: Nope! “Better collusion”

Trump: Increase military spending and support our military...
Democrats: No! Better collusion

Trump: Reduce taxes on businesses and individuals...
Democrats: No, no, no... better collusion

Trump: Create Obamacare replacement...
Democrats: No, we... better collusion

Collusion, collusion, collusion...
It’s a destructive word, but democrats don’t realize it yet how destructive it’s going to be for them.

Yep. 100% pleased? No. Didn’t expect to be.

100% support? Yes. First time any President has spoken for me since Ronald Reagan.

That's because "these revelations" are an absolute nothingburger...

All the shenanigans going on in DC just validates my vote for Trump and confirms what everyone one suspected. DC is out of control!

More abject nonsense. To any "rational observer", it's abundantly clear that this is just more of the same hyperventilating on the part of a hopelessly biased and partisan Media, nothing more.

When will the Media understand that their credibility is gone, never to return?

The Media is basically just "going through the motions" at this point, and they're not fooling anyone. Sure, they're throwing out constant red meat to their equally fanatical Democrat constituency, but that constituency is steadily shrinking as a consequence of the Media's blatant slant and incorrigible obsession with attacking this duly elected President.

A Senate job originally was NOT a full-time/year round career.

They went to DC during the (few) months, after crops were harvested, etc., to quickly do the work for the folks - from their respective states - had SENT them there to do.

They (Senators) also were held accountable at the state level. None of this national, corporate lobbyist BS to bribe them.

They kept their ‘day jobs’, as the pay was not all that great.

How can we get these oligarch, career politicians BACK to that status???

The left doesn’t even understand their predicament and the support Trump has. After 8 years of totalitarian tyranny anything less than a push for freedom will be a disaster for them.

Wow. Why don't you just lay it out in black and white instead? LOL. As cogent, concise, and hard-hitting as any post I've seen today. Nice.
