The headline yesterday said the market went soft.

Not interested in watching the Politically Correct Derby.

What these folks don’t grapple with is that we DONT expect them to be conservative crusaders. Just play football. And be patriotic I guess you know salute the flag or if conscience forbids quietly abstain don’t be an ass.

I could be wrong, but I don’t see anything to cause a turn around.

Those who followed the game in years past have moved on.

We got older. There are other things to occupy people’s time nowadays.

The NFL and ESPN had a good thing going. Who is going to pass down a game to their children that has been chickified, has chosen to disrespect our flag and anthem, and play hardball about reversing those trends.

Screw em...

I agree he is the worst commissioner ever. The only thing he actually did right was to suspend Tom Brady for four games.

The audience for ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” shrank 12 percent last season.

I love football. I don’t love social commentary when I’m trying to watch the game, or ingrates kneeling at the start, or dressing the players in pink.

Exactly!

I lost all respect when they adopte that idiotic breast cancer awareness crap and the Pink shoes and towels.

Not diminishing awareness of Breast cancer, just what the hell does it have to do with Football?
I’ll tell you... it used to be, the fake news lie was Super Bowl Sunday was the day of most husbands beating their wives. (Long proven a flat out lie but nevermind the inconvenient truth)

But the narrative stands that men must pay penance, and succumb to women’s sensitivities, and enjoying football or anything men like CAN be allowed, but men must pay a price.

It’s like the fake news media constantly pounding people about the poor and homeless at Christmas, how dare you enjoy yourselves when so many people are suffering...

I’m Not guilty of anything and not the least bit sorry to boot.

NFL, ESPN you name it, the have completely sold out to liberal fascism and I hope they continue to loose revenue and viewership.

/rant off...

Yeah it’s the same with regular TV ratings as well. Nobody wants to admit that politicizing sports and entertainment is terrible for business.

I disagree on that. There is NO evidence Tom Brady did anything wrong.

That’s very sly on your part. You watched the Mexican version on ESPN2. /s

In America, the reason why a majority of the world speaks English, at least as a second language, is subjected to having a mainstream channel broadcast its coverage in the language from a country that is the anus of the world.

It was nice to see at the MLB All Star game last night, every player/manager standing at attention and showing respect, when appropriate.

Including lots of Dominicans/Cubans/Venezuelans/Canadians who are not even US Citizens, showing more respect than NFL players who were born here.

Same here - I can't stand it when Bob Costas thinks he has to make a social commentary on guns or the gay guy who came out of the closet. I don't tune in to hear that crap. And in regards to pink month - wouldn't it be better for the cause if all that money that is spent on hats, cleats and whatever get donated to charity?

It wouldn’t bother me if the NFL, NBA and ESPN all went belly up. I just can’t watch NFL games any more. I hope all Freepers boycott them all. I’LL do my part. I wouldn’t watch the ESPY awards if they paid me to.

I’m glad at least one other person thinks essentially the same way I do on professional sports.

TV viewership of the NFL fell 8 percent last year, according to Nielsen data, hurt by poor matchups and competition from the presidential election, along with negative publicity surrounding head concussions and player protests during the national anthem.

I'll add team rosters full of women beaters, drug addicts, and yes, murderers, along with a self-centered attitude that manifests itself in ridiculous celebrations after even routine plays.
