Nevada state officials declared a state of emergency after stores that sell recreational marijuana reported that their supply is running out just less than two weeks after the drug went on sale legally.
Gov. Brian Sandoval, R-Nev., issued the state of emergency on Friday, which will allow state officials to decide on new rules that could ease the shortage of marijuana, according to Fox 13 Now.
Nevadas Department of Taxation released a statement that said it will contemplate emergency regulations that would permit liquor wholesalers to cash in on the marijuana sales.
Based on reports of adult-use marijuana sales already far exceeding the industrys expectations at the states 47 licensed retail marijuana stores and the reality that many stores are running out of inventory, the Department must address the lack of distributors immediately, the Department of Taxation said in a statement. Some establishments report the need for delivery within the next several days.

Pot is grown LOCALLY. All legal pot is tracked from sprout to retail sale in every state where it is legal.
Any retailer that cannot show the origin of every bud will lose their license and go to jail.
EVERY transaction is recorded and required to be kept for several years.
Legal Pot??? Why in the world would I buy legal pot when good old illegal Cartel pot is half the price? It's like why would I buy cigarettes in New York City at a $13 tax PER PACK??? Black Market on the street smokes are easier to find and buy.
Listen - if we truly want to surrender on the War on Drugs, then we must admit the Cartels - who provide 2/3 of our marijuana - will be our new legitimate corporate overlords like Budweiser and RJ Reynolds Tobacco.
One of the easiest plants in the world to grow. Only government could screw this up. LOL
“Thats why I support drug decriminalization. There would be no profit in peddling drugs. Legalization turns the govt into a pusher.”
I agree with the essence of that statement completely! If there’s going to be retail outlets, sure, let the government regulate and tax it all they want, but at the same time, there must be some kind of decriminalization for adults to grow their own.
“Legalization turns the govt into a pusher.”
Thank you.
Not only that - Legalization also adds to the ever worsening government tax and spend problems.
The real reason The State is considering legalization is for the money they can grab by taxing it. And of course more taxes means more spending. More spending means more government which means less freedoms for us all.
You’d think libertarians who claim to be for less government could figure that out. But libs are either high on dope. Or stupid beyond belief.
Or both.
Since you are all-knowing, please explain marijuana to me?
The difference in quality between a legal pack of cigarettes and a black market pack of cigarettes is zero. It’s the same product made by the same manufacturer.
The difference between Mexican cartel pot and legally grown pot is like the difference between hamburger made from road killed gophers and Wagyu beef.
Just because the government told you that, doesn't make it true. If marijuana isn't addictive, then how come people "introduced" to it have to use it religiously.
Example, that director Kevin Smith, was 35+ when some actor introduced it to him, now, by his own admission, is smoking it almost all his waking hours.
Mexico has ample supply...And we can tax it coming into this country to pay for the Wall...
Thank goodness we still have all the booze we can drink to keep us intelligent, sober and on the alert...
Yup, Papa Joe Kennedy could now legally bring in all the Scotch Whisky he brought in during Prohibition.
He was rewarded by FDR as the Ambassador to the Court of St James.
“If marijuana isn’t addictive, then how come people “introduced” to it have to use it religiously.”
Pure fallacy.
I was “introduced” to cannabis at the age of 15. I didn’t touch it again until I was 20 & not again after that till I was 40. 14 years after that I began using cannabis medicinally.
How did I manage not to use it for years at a time, nick? Do tell.
So, you're saying that Budweiser, Coors, Miller, Jack Daniels, et al, are run by the gangsters that bootlegged illegal hooch during Prohibition.
I can't speak for everyone, but I would certainly like to see the cites that support your assertion.
Gee, all they have to do is ask Jerry Brown for the replenishment of marijuana. The cash crop of Kalifornia is weed? It’s been like that for decades.

There's a large difference between physical addiction and habit forming.
Withdrawal from a substance that is physically addicting includes Sweating racing heart, palpitations, muscle tension, tightness in the chest, difficulty breathing, tremors, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
No one ever experienced any of these symptoms when they stop smoking pot, no matter how much they smoke or how often.
This is still a family forum. Please keep your profanity to yourself.
Sin taxes to benefit non-sin things is never a good idea. Whether it’s lottery “for education,” or smoking for “cancer research,” it all boils down to a convoluted mess.
I guess that’s why all the dopers around here look like a bunch of dirty freeze dried hippies that have been pulled through a 12 inch sewer line for about 20 miles.
(they kinda smell that way to)
Sounds to me like a lot of money is changing hands in the pot shops, I would be more worried about being the owner of one and getting robbed.
Now days the criminals have figured out that it’s safer to kill the victim than leave them alive to testify.
