Liberal Californians are really quite afraid. The Trump technique and persona is kryponite to their arguments and methods.

The fraud that goes on in L.A is staggering - deporting the illegals and beginning to expose the corruption here could go a long way in flipping voters minds.

I know it sounds crazy but more and more conservatives coming out - I've noticed an amusing trend among friends. The conservatives we are laughing and don't so much argue these days as bring up trigger points visa vi - "Oh what did you think about Kathy Griffin?" Or "Do you think James Comey and Lorretta Lynch will go to jail". Man they go a bit apoplectic - what about Trump the retort - "you mean russia russia and that fake news."

I tell them I don't want to talk politics - secretly I do.

Reality of the situation is I'm not used to having a president who is a leader and a man of real accomplishment and getting my way politically.

It will be fun watching the liberal fringe meet up with the National Guard. Reality check, they can’t vote themselves out of the USA.

I loved California. Very sad to see where it is now, and where it is headed. I highly doubt national democrats would allow California to secede, given that it has become an automatic 55 electoral votes for them in Presidential elections.

Okay. But only on a county-by-county basis.

Entire states entered the union and entire states leave the union. This county thing is BS.

what would the illegals do?

If California does leave the US (please, please) they would have to keep them or deport them to their homelands. The US without CA would lose a lot of its pro-invader sentiment.

There already is precedence for part of a state to secede. Virginia is not what it was before 1861...

Silicon Valley or Calabasas

You think Calabasas is liberal for Socal? I thought the opposite, and I live here in this detacted reality. Granted there are some illiterati show biz types - I thought is was more conservative here then Westwood, Studio City and of course Santa Monica.

I will grant you yes its liberal here but in my short 9 years here I've noticed more conservatives speaking up at the bar and such.

I'm thinking if this deportation thing really gets into swing perhaps Oxnard is where to go.

Understanding California is understanding people who live in bubbles detached from the rest of the planet earth. Socal is one bubble, LA another, and then between the two grades from Calabasas to camarillio another bubble.

I'm three bubbles in detached from reality.

By the way no secession - how about hangings? California way to beautiful, big, diverse and rich to let go - cull most definitely abandon, never going to happen.

Northern California is sane and doesn’t want to be associated with LA, San Francisco, and the Coast hippies.

Not all CA is inhabited by insane Liberals!!

The entire state of California would have to secede first. Then parts of it that want to from independent territories would have to petition the US congress for admission. I doubt Sacramento would allow sections to break off. In any event a long process.

The Dems would never elect another President. And Congress would be perpetually Republican.

The National Review (don’t remember which writer) did an in-depth, point-by-point breakdown of the abject madness of the secession movement. The westies think they can go it alone... they’d be in for a very nasty surprise.

The Democratic party in the rest of the US would be screwed losing those locked in 55 electoral college votes!
