To Themselves and stop
Whingeing that
“Rosey” doesn’t kiss
Their “BooBoos.”

Drudge has also been hacked since yesterday. Wont let me in, tells me to turn off my adblocker. The code which replaces the Drudge content with a message if you are using an ad blocker isn't a hack, it is in the page source that Drudge is delivering and it looks like his team put it there. Apparently Drudge has decide he would rather have less readers.
The Javascript code looks to see if a particular ad server has been blocked, which a typical ad-blocker would do, and then replaces the Drudge report content with the message.
The script can be blocked off by a script blocker, or you can just skip reading Drudge's site.

Your description matches exactly what I'm seeing. Further, I ran a wireshark capture yesterday, and found lots of "Retransmission" requests. Some are labeled "Spurious Retransmission", which would seem to indicate that I'm getting retrans packets that I was not expecting. I also seem to be seeing "RST" (reset) packets that don't seem to be expected. Overall, just browsing through the wireshark packet capture, it looks like the session is fairly broken, with lots of funky network stuff going on that is interfering with the request. Unfortunately, I'm not really a network guy. I'm more of an amateur that has been exposed to network troubleshooting because of the nature of my job(s). Some of the guys I work with could take a capture like this apart and tell you
exactly what is going on. I can't really.
Jim/John, I'd be surprised if we don't have some serious network geeks here on FR. I'd be happy to provide packet captures for someone to look at. As described by rimorel in the post I'm replying to, this has been really annoying behavior for quite some time now. I've just been dealing with it as funkiness and just living with it. I would imagine the retrans requests and other network weirdness is probably affecting FR performance adversely in other ways as well though, and it might make some sense to see if they can't be worked through.

That’s interesting. I have installed wireshark, but don’t really have a good enough handle on it. Maybe that will help.
Interesting, today seems to be a 3-10 second delay for me opening things or replying. Usually a bit worse..

Jim, system is running fine this morning. I am in southern DE,across the country from you.
Nortihing seems to be hanging up at all.
Yesterday, there was no question—the system was slower and was hanging up on every move.

Is it my imagination or is the system not running full speed this morning? The funny thing, is that it seems to be performing much better than it has been in quite a while for me today.
I suspect it's one of those Murphy's Law things. The minute you get a repairman over to look at an appliance, it starts working perfectly.
