Since Emmanuel Macrons election to office this past spring, Brigitte Macron has been shaking up the role of Frances First Lady in more ways than one. Aside from being 24 years her husbands senior, at 64, Macrons favorite unconventional fashion choices feature hemlines that fall well above the kneeand place her gamine, toned, and tan limbs squarely in the spotlight. Directly after inauguration day, Macron celebrated mid-Mays sunny days at the Élysée Palace in a cornflower blue Louis Vuitton skirt suit that inched upward to reveal the head-turning limbs that would soon become her signature. A belted black shift, also from Louis Vuitton, came next, paired with leg-elongating nude pumps. Even when swathed in sheer black tights, her willowy stems maintained a scene-stealing presence. But lest one think Macron only shows them off for official occasions, the First Lady left her home in Le Touquet-Paris-Plage on a bicycle in June clad in a crisp button-up, sneakers, and a denim miniskirt that hit at mid-thigh. And today in Germany at the G20 summit, Macron stepped out in a coral funnel-neck frock and flesh-tone stilettos that offered a leggy take on the political uniform. Historically, the French have never set an expiration date on femininity or sensuality. This may explain why, at a time when Americas youth obsession is paramount, and its restrictions on women ever-more pervasive (including Congresss recent deeming of sleeveless attire inappropriate), Macrons rejection of outdated age- and gender-related dress codes feels particularly remarkable. Visible on a global scale, Frances First Lady is cutting a liberating new feminist path with her particular brand of Gallic body confidence. In politics, as in life, what could be more powerful?
They tried foisting Moochelle on the fashion world with the same barfology.
And that’s after finishing rehab.
I agree.
My post was snarky.
Nothing like starting out married life as a young man with a woman whose sex life is already histoire! It ends soon enough under the best of circumstances.
I think both suits are lovely particularly the white one.
Her Indian name is Dead Beaver
You call that a knife? Here, this is a knife!
You call those legs? Here, these are legs!
I agree. I love women over 50 who are not afraid to take actions on ideas, and are young at heart. She looks like she’s got a great sense of humor. Look at her shoes and matching handbag in the photomw Melania.
The real issue here is not this woman’s legs but the abject ass-kissing hyperbole of Vogue magazine
Never said they weren’t.
Why is the Left always objectifying women?
First, it was Michelle’s biceps, now Mrs. Macron’s legs.
No comments about their intellect, eh, Lefties?
I've seen more attractive legs in a bucket of KFC.
Her legs look so weak I’m surprised she’s able to walk in heels.
Donald Trump was still married to wife #1 when he started up with the woman who would become wife #2, and was still married to her when he started up with the woman who would become wife #3. C’est la vie!
If you remove the lady from her present situation (woman married to a much-younger gay world leader), and don’t compare her with Melania, she’s fine. If she were an older lady attending your church, she’d stand out and probably be exceptional. I like some of the outfits she wears.
Lol!! I wonder how many colors does she have this little number in?
Maybe Galeries Lafayette had them “buy one get one”!
She strikes me as a sort of a “cool grandma” who tries maybe a little too hard to stay current and dress young. Beyond a point it stops being cute and starts being creepy. She’s right on the cusp of that.
That she’s also married to a man young enough to be her son, and that affair goes back reportedly to his mid-teens, pushes it even further into creepy.
I have news stories. If you call that evidence. His parents changed schools to separate them. He went away with her for weekends against his parents wishes and by subterfuge, also news story evidence.
The age of consent in France is 15 so she could not be prevented by the parents.
