The last time gas was this cheap in America on the Fourth of July, the Kardashians didn't even have a television show.
According to AAA, the average national gas price currently sits at $2.23 per gallon. That figure hasn't dipped so low since 2005 when Fourth of July drivers also owed $2.23 on average. It's the cheapest gas has been throughout 2017 as well.
"The combination of tepid demand and increased gasoline and crude output continues to put downward pressure on gas prices," AAA Spokesperson Jeanette Casselano said in a news release.
The least expensive market in the country is South Carolina at $1.90. Drivers in Hawaii are facing the steepest prices with their average sitting at $3.05 per gallon, according to AAA.

This was not THANKS to obozo. It was IN SPITE of him/her.
Fracking operated under the radar for many years — then exploded when the natural result of obozo’s anti-progress policies made oil expensive enough for fracking to be a good alternative.
obozo reacted with horror and started doing everything he/she could to get gas prices down to kill the fracking industry forever in hopes of then ratcheting down on oil and forcing it to be as expensive as in the EU.
obozo did not plan on American Entrepreneurship (all of who are smarter than him) and a Trump administration not puilling the trigger on Part 2 of the plan.
If hiLIARy has won, we would be looking at $4 gas by now.
Almost $3.50 in WA. It was $1.87 when 0bama took office and rose like a rocket after.

Lowest I’ve seen in middle Ga is $1.86.
Next time I fill up, I will use my Kroger points and pay about $1.71 per gallon.
I remember lots of July 4th holidays when gas hovered between $.19 and $.25 a gallon in Kansas, depending on whether we had a gas war going on! Filled my car and the cars of both of my teenagers each Monday morning and it only took $20 max.
Ahhh... I remember those days.
Ya, and I used to put in 2 bucks and beat the drag with my hot rod all night long.
Was still broke...dam speeding tickets.
$1.86 to $2.03 here in Medina and Wayne counties, Ohio. And that is with the mandated summer blends to reduce smog. Come on EPA Pruitt, abolish the gas blend regulations.
Years ago, they took air samples on a hazy, muggy summer afternoon in August when the Browns had a home game. No surprise they had stop and go traffic and the resulting smog that brought us e-check.
Remember, anyone, the gas prices under Obama?
