Czech lawmakers have passed legislation in the lower parliament that would see the right to bear firearms enshrined in the countrys constitution in a move directed against tighter regulations from the European Union. The legislation was passed with 139 deputies agreeing to the amendment to the constitution with only nine deputies voting against. The amendment will now be considered by the Czech Senate where it will require a supermajority of three-fifths of the members in order to pass into law, Die Presse reports.

At least they realize they need to protect themselves against the invading mooselimb army being invited into the rest of Europe....
Is there any doubt that the EU was not just about economics but was designed to strip countries of their sovereignty?
I wish I’d visited Sweden 10 or 15 years ago to see where my great grandparents came from. Today, I’m not so sure I’d go.
....They wont be telling us who should live here...
Nor, should Democrats and other lunatic liberals be doing that here either.
They need a Czechxit...
Nice. Still the niggling thing about being required to have a certificate. Thats a loophole Statists would use to deny the right.
Merkel’s EU trying to force the eastern European counties to accept more migrants sounds like a 21st century version of lebensraum to me.
One word, WOW!!
Although the future doesn’t bode well, I’ve heard that one can visit Germany and Scandinavia today and find it still very traditional, very lovely. Better buy some more CZs before the prices skyrocket :-/
Good for them! They’re also very fortunate that they (the Czechs) they can acquire some of the finest firearms in the world, IMO. (CZ)
All EU countries are going to HAVE to do this eventually.
Very good news. Neither Britain or Sweden has even considered letting their citizens defend themselves, if fact, they hate the idea. Bravo to the Czechs!
My mom and my aunt took my son, then aged about 12 to Sweden some years ago. The Swedes paid a return visit a year later while we lived in Minnesota.
We toured Mpls, the North Shore of Lake Superior, then down to Iowa where my Great Grandpa and grandma lived.
They explored my old coal mining town of Mystic, the local cemetery when Gus and Marie rest. It was a good visit.
Good for them. I’d like to point out that more than any other country, the Czechs have very good reason to react when “other” countries decide what is best for them.
At least one Euro country has learned the lesson. The other Eastern European countries have also seemed to be paying attention. Good for them, too!
I was born in 1988. who would have thought that in my lifetime, The American Right would be praising and flying the Flags of The Czechs, Poland and Hungary.
They were unwilling commies at best.
