The Times of Israel reports: A meeting between Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and senior White House official Jared Kushner reportedly left the Palestinian leader fuming and refusing to agree to watered-down demands that Ramallah cut off payments for some convicted terrorists and their families. According to Palestinian sources quoted in Hebrew and Arabic media Friday, Abbas and his advisers accused the US of taking Israel’s side and refused a demand to stop paying salaries to several hundred prisoners serving time for the most serious crimes. Kushner, who is US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and chief Middle East adviser, met with Abbas in Ramallah on Wednesday, along with Trump’s international negotiator Jason Greenblatt.

btw, what is your time frame? 2020?

When is it ENOUGH???

How long is trump going to give them for peace before it is ENOUGH and he will actually enforce the Congressional mandate on the Embassy.

Give me a time frame.

So is this enough of a reason for trump to REFUSE to move the Embassy as per the Congressional Mandate

http://www.timesofisrael.com/abbas-said-enraged-by-kushner-meet-refuses-to-cut-any-prisoner-salaries/

“Reportedly Abbas refused to end the payments to prisoners, but instead insisted on restarting the trilateral committee on incitement. The committee includes Israeli, Palestinian and American officials and was formed as part of the Wye River Memorandum in 1998. The committee met every two months until the outbreak of the Second Intifada in September 2000.”

http://www.timesofisrael.com/the-curious-israeli-half-battle-against-palestinian-incitement/

But in its roughly two years of activity, the committee never reached agreement on these questions. Boaz Ganor, a counter-terrorism expert at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliyah (IDC), who was appointed by then foreign minister Ariel Sharon to head the subcommittee on incitement in textbooks, said that the committee was doomed from the start due to the “extremist” personalities of Israeli team head Uri Dan and Palestinian team head Marwan Kanafani.

“We didn’t even agree on the basic question of what constitutes incitement. For weeks we tried to define what it even is.”

‘You know RummyChick, you may not even realize it, but when I run into your posts you seem to be trashing Trump for something.’

It’s relentless. Incessant. A fixation. A compulsion.

It never ends.

To find anything as uniformly negative re Trump as RC’s posts, you’d have to visit DU.

Think about it.

‘Tump hasn’t said he has changed his mind. He still intends to move the embassy to Jerusalem’

This is the difference between Trump and all the others. He keeps his promises. He’ll move the embassy. It will be on his timetable, not on that of his critics. If he’s delaying, it has to do with The Art of the Deal. But the delay will be temporary; the promise will be kept.

That’s my take as well, but to be honest, if he never did, it wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me.

He has not taken a hard line against Israel. He’s a good friend of Israel.

At the end of the day, isn’t that the most important issue?

I do want the embassy moved. If I don’t get my way on that issue, I won’t go postal over it.

You aren’t alone. A lot of people are noticing this never ending negative drumbeat. I first commented on it several months ago. Since then it’s only intensified.

Enough is enough. The last I checked, this was not billed as a bash Trump site.

This NEVER TRUMP insanity knows no end.

This president is the best we’ve had in a generation. He may wind up being one of the top three best ones ever.

His leadership skills are astounding. He gets things done. He hasn’t gotten everything done, but he has gotten far more things done that I thought he would by now.

There is so much room for cheering, congratulating, and kudos all around, and yet this kvetching is all we hear from some folks.

You will find pinheads most places you go in life. They are always the last ones to know.

+1

Lots of pro-Trump posters criticize him from time to time. Some criticize him regularly. Yet in between those comments you’ll find an array of strongly pro-Trump posts. You can tell they love him; they just have an issue here and there.

Then there are those who ***never*** cheer the POTUS. Every comment is a criticism—every single one. For the most part, we call those people, ‘Democrats.’ Not sure what to call those who claim to be conservative.

You can think Kushner will succeed at brokering peace

I think the idea is absurd.

No one can accuse you of being inconsistent.

And YOU think he can broker peace when no one else has???

Oh yeah, let’s wait and see who is right on this..

Hint..ME

When 2020 rolls around there will be no peace....

I don’t know whether trump will back the 1995 CONGRESSIONAL MANDATE to move the Embassy.

I doubt he will...but he might.

If he doesn’t...WHO WILL?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Those are my observations as well. I agree.

It’s a shame some folks see Trump as the devil incarnate. You’ll never convince them otherwise.

All you can do is shake your head and feel sorry for them.

This is a time when we all could be very happy about how good we have it. Some refuse to.

‘This is a time when we all could be very happy about how good we have it.’

So true! We went through eight years of Obama undermining and sabotaging America any way he could. Hillary was designated to finish the job. Even now, when I reflect on the magnitude of the power and money that opposed Trump, I’m amazed he made it. I literally see the hand of God. It took a miracle, there is little doubt.

Here we are, 6 mos into the new administration. It’s like suffering for eight years with an absessed tooth, and finally it’s been treated. The pain and misery are over. I’m still pinching myself.

Not to divigate too far, but the wins keep coming. It wasn’t that long ago that if the Democrats spent nearly 24 million on a race, and the GOP spent ~4.5 mil, the GOP would have gone down in flames. But in that exact scenario we just had a resounding victory.

Fortunately I never imagined Trump could keep all his promises in the first 6 mos. Nor am I raddled with hatred for orthodox Jews, so Kushner doesn’t send me off the deep end. I just wake up each day thanking God that Trump prevailed, and saying extra prayers for Trump’s spiritual advisors. We finally have the opportunity to recover from Obama’s onslaught, and it’s wonderful to watch that recovery unfold.

I agree with your observations. The comments about divine intervention are not too far fetched IMO.

It did take a miracle.

If you look at the powers that lined up against him, it couldn’t have been anything else but God’s will.

We even had folks bashing him here, and this was essentially his last bastion of support.

I say that with some part of my tongue in cheek, because the populace didn’t all exist on this forum. Many folks were moved to support Trump, and there’s no question in my mind that God was at work here.

Who knows how many folks were moved by FReepers who talked to family and friends, who bought off on their beliefs.

When I go to the Leftist sites these days, it’s as if only FReepers were posting responses.

The Right has become a very popular belief system almost overnight.

It’s all because of one man folks. If you can’t grasp that, you really shouldn’t mess with sharp objects, like Free Republic.

That is a VERY good point!! Traditional GOPers are off-putting at best. Think Mitch McConnell. The Permanent Political Class thinks Paul Ryan is attractive, but how many people would stand for hours in long lines to crowd an arena to hear him speak???

Let’s don’t even mention Romney or McCain. When the base finds them unbearable, who else are they supposed to energize?

Trump has given people who find the Uniparty creepy and revolting an opportunity to be strongly and vitally engaged. His apoeal lies in no small part in the fact that he’s profoundly not a politician. He changed the landscape as it’s never been changed, politically, before.

Imagine this: Democrats are vainly plotting ways to rid themselves of Pelosi. Would you have predicted, 6 mos ago, that an anti-Pelosi revolt would roil the Dems? Add to that spectacle Trump begging, via tweets, that they keep Pelosi in placr. (Almost)Too much winning.

Meanwhile, the party of Trump is simply celebrating a whole new ballgame. It’s great!

There are very few Reagans or Trumps.

There are more Mitch McConnells or Ryans.

There are still more McCains, Snows, Grahams...

There are many warm buckets of horse sweat, the human dregs of a failed government behemoth, the U.S. Congressional establishment.

We have a new Reagan/Trump class individual every generation or so. When we have them, we have to accomplish as much as we can.

Most of those I mentioned above, are working very hard to defeat Trump’s renaissance. He wants to lead our nation out of the most recent dark age. He is our only shot.

Folks can take their pot shots at him and think they are doing the Lord’s work, but I think the Lord did his work last year.

It’s up to Trump and his supporters now. We have to do our part. We have to prove to God we deserve another chance.

Evidently God found his ten good men in American, and it softened his wrath. Sodom and Gomorrah should have been so lucky.

It’s time for us to prove to him there aren’t just ten, but tens of millions of us. We look forward now to a new promised land. Some are looking back, they are in danger of turning to salt. (figuratively)

We want our nation back. We want to be “..one nation, indivisible, under God...” again.

So much for “our side”.

The Left can try to blame Pelosi all they want. I didn’t hear anyone complaining about her so-called leadership. They were all in, and couldn’t have been happier as long as they were convinced evil would prevail.

Evil didn’t prevail. God did.

How folks could have missed this, I don’t know. Some who think themselves on our side did.
