The Times of Israel reports: A meeting between Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and senior White House official Jared Kushner reportedly left the Palestinian leader fuming and refusing to agree to watered-down demands that Ramallah cut off payments for some convicted terrorists and their families. According to Palestinian sources quoted in Hebrew and Arabic media Friday, Abbas and his advisers accused the US of taking Israel’s side and refused a demand to stop paying salaries to several hundred prisoners serving time for the most serious crimes. Kushner, who is US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and chief Middle East adviser, met with Abbas in Ramallah on Wednesday, along with Trump’s international negotiator Jason Greenblatt.

You poor thing. You’ve going to be so unhappy for the next three and a half years.

Too bad you couldn’t join the rest of us and be happy Trump is using good people to do good things.

Hey, it’s your choice to be miserable. Who am I to end all your fun.

I’ve got news for Alan West. There’s nothing he could do about this. Well,... he could shut the hell up.

Its a pretense.

If they aren’t willing to say at the end of the day..(really at the end of the X time frame) we support Israel..we are stopping financial support to your activity..we are moving the Embassy....etc..then its all a joke.

Nothing against Allen West, but O-5 is not exactly the top of the totem pole. My ROTC graduate brother-in-law retired at a higher pay grade.

Kushner will fail at brokering peace

The real question is whether Trump will do something about it once Kushner fails.

Like move the Embassy as promised.

Heinz-Christian Strache, leader of the anti-mass migration Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) has called for Austria to move its Israeli embassy to Jerusalem, echoing U.S. President Donald Trump.

I’m sure I probably agree with Alan most of the time. He’s a good guy generally, and I like that.

It is off-putting to me to see folks gather around him and suggest he’d make a great president or vice-president.

Based on what?

Look at the treacherous waters Trump has to traverse to get anything done. The guy is a human dynamo. Could Alan West have done anything at all in this situation. IMO, he would have been crushed.

Nobody but nobody can do anything to get the Arabs on the West bank and Gaza from being Arabs. They will conduct themselves like Arabs do. It’s who they are.

Alan knows this. Trashing Jared or the idea of sending Jared is pointless. Jesus Himself couldn’t have done any better than Jared in that situation.

Satan rejects Christ. Hey, it is what it is.

You poor thing. You are stuck on negativity. Jared this, Jerusalem that...

You don’t think Trump has done very good work so far?

Tell me what the damage is by holding off on the move for a short period, giving the Arabs a chance to come to something that passes for good sense in the region.

Is this attitude of yours making you happy?

We are for what he has done to Trump’s admin—fill it with Dem and GOPe traitors, push his liberal Democrat ideas (e.g., the Paris accord) within it, and possibly make Trump vulnerable to corruption claims within his admin, should the Dems get the upper hand (which Mueller is now working on feverishly).

But asking Islamist terrorists to stop being Islamist terrorists—that’s a no brainer (especially considering his family’s Israeli connections).

“There is nothing a 36-year-old heir to a commercial real estate fortune can do about this.”

There is nothing ANYONE can do about this, short of total nuclear war. Every other "approach" is posing and politics.

Did Bush move us there?

You know RummyChick, you may not even realize it, but when I run into your posts you seem to be trashing Trump for something.

I asked you what damage would be done if Trump didn’t move our embassy to Jerusalem right away.

Didn’t see your list of things that would be catastrophic.

Perhaps you’re still thinking...

Good luck.

Put a number on it. How many months are you giving Trump to ignore this Act. At one point does he keep his promise?

Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995

So you aren’t going to give me a number

http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2015/06/the_jerusalem_embassy_act_of_1995.html

So it is okay for Trump to renege on this until 2020 because Kushner will still be trying to broker peace right up until the next election.

You are a moron, plain and simple.

You poor dear. It has been 22 years since 1995, and we had the White House for eight of them.

Perhaps you can explain the emergency that exists right now. Please, be my guest.

Why is this whole thing Trump’s fault?

Clinton, Bush, and Obama took a pass on it, but nearly six months into his administration, that doesn’t matter and it’s now a big scandal for Trump according to you.

Nonsense...

I want the embassy moved. I’m not going to trash Trump for not doing it. You can all you like.

There’s plenty to be happy about with Trump but you can choose to make yourself miserable if you like. It’s your choice.

So you are saying that Trump is no better than any other President who has refused to do it...and thus it’s okay to break the promise he made.

You do understand that the only reason it isn’t happening is because POTUS since 1995 has refused to do it. Trump can easily do it.

So why not?

If Kushner can’t broker peace..and HE CAN NOT..then why refuse to keep good on his promise

Oh, because he is like Clinton, Bush, and Obama??? That’s your excuse?

“Incredulous, Bob Dole, Republican Senate majority leader at the time and sponsor of the bill, countered: “This legislation is not about the peace process. It’s about recognizing Israel’s capital.”

http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2015/06/the_jerusalem_embassy_act_of_1995.html

“But the rightful recognition of Jerusalem and the movement of the embassy could actually be huge for a real peace movement. It would dash the unrealistic hope the Palestinians have that the United States can offer up unrequited concessions from Israel while distancing itself from the Jewish state.”
