In a hidden room in a house near Argentina's capital, police believe they have found the biggest collection of Nazi artifacts in the country's history, including a bust relief of Adolf Hitler and magnifying glasses inside elegant boxes with swastikas.
Some 75 objects were found in a collector's home in Beccar, a suburb north of Buenos Aires, and authorities say they suspect they are originals that belonged to high-ranking Nazis in Germany during World War II.
"Our first investigations indicate that these are original pieces," Argentine Security Minister Patricia Bullrich told The Associated Press on Monday, saying that some pieces were accompanied by old photographs. "This is a way to commercialize them, showing that they were used by the horror, by the fuhrer. There are photos of him with the objects."

Look like fantasy pieces to me. Way more of that floating around than legit WW2 Germany relics.
I can remember visiting a car museum in Las Vegas back about 1999 and they had Hitler’s personal staff car on display, with signs all around it saying that the display was not at all intended to glorify the Nazi German regime, etc.
What bugs me about this story is it sounds as if the artifacts themselves are considered illegal. Any SOL for something like illegal smuggling, even if they were able to prove it, should have already passed.
So why exactly are they confiscating the collector’s property?
I hope this stuff remains in the possession of the collector, rather than confiscated and maybe shipped off to Israel where they’ll melt it down or something. These are historical artifacts, no matter their content or pedigree, unless they believe that if you give someone Hitler’s magnifying glass, they will turn into a Nazi?
.... Here ... Let me save you the wait .... I just uncovered an amazing fact ..... Trump was born 9 Months after the Death of Hitler ..... So obviously the Liberals will be claiming that .... Donald Trump is the son of Adolf Hitler!!!
Well, if you know anything about Israel and Argentina’s history, it’s highly unlikely that they will end up in Israel.
Didn’t Joseph Mengele hide-out in Buenos Aires for a while?
Yes, but he later had to move to Paraguay. Argentina wasn’t so safe for Nazi’s after the Mossad snatched Eichmann.
Wow. Bound to be stuff buried in places like that.
He was a farm tractor salesman and even in the BA phone book until he took off for Paraguay.
By today's way of thought, he was bullied by Nazi hunters.
My dad came hoe from WWIi with all sorts of nazi memorabilia, including Mein Kaumpf, a Luger, a few K98k’s and a few brand new uniforms, helmets, w/ insignia. Does that make him a nazi or a sympathizer...No, it made him a collector of the things that had a major on him as a young adult.
To some degree, if this were the former belongings of a high ranking nazi, They too would be just as susceptible to keeping things from their prior lives that they figured might have some residual value in the future.

Funny
My dad had a Nazi pilot’s Sig Sauer 32 ACP with the holster. It was supposed to be mine when I turned 18, but he traded it off. I ended up with a nice Ruger 44 Magnum carbine, but the Sig would be much more valuable.
I have a nondescript Japanese bayonet from WWII that creeps me out more than the gun with swastikas. (The odds are much higher that the blade drew blood than that a pilot used his pistol.)
I can see your point.
