Space Aliens: Evolutionists’ Imaginary Friends

Those who believe life emerges from atoms pretend to talk to companions they don’t even know exist.

It’s common in atheist circles to mock believers in God as having an “imaginary friend” that gives them comfort like a cosmic teddy bear. Well, how about those who believe in billions of invisible friends? That’s the faith that keeps atheists willing to spend time and effort looking for them. It launches many a book and article about what these imaginary products of evolution might be like.

Does anyone remember Quix? He was one of those who believed that if ET arrives, he will be a demon from Hell.

I realize there are arguments, but there are many who find those arguments flawed. To them, for example, multiple manifestations of a single Christ would not be a good answer. Christ died once for our sins. He didn't die multiple times for multiple sentient species.

And the old fallback positions "God's way are mysterious" or "We have more important things to worry about in our own lives" may provide personal solace, but these are laughable to those whom we wish to bring closer to Christ.

Quix had a point.

However the hunch that we are not alone has a classic Christian explanation. Witness needs to deal with questions and objections that the audience states. Not with an infinity of hypotheticals.

I am not sure I doubt that there is life elsewhere in the universe. But I don’t see any point in spending billions of dollars to show that there was once bacterial life on Mars. They sure aren’t going to find complex life on Mars. We will never actually meet space aliens. Even if there were intelligent life in the nearest star system from the sun, neither we nor they could ever traverse the distance. The best we could hope for is to communicate with radio.

And oddly enough popular culture about ET’s tends to bolster the demon thesis. For one thing it seems to have disdain for spirituality as we know it.

Why such a putative society would even want to try — much less send aambassadors — requires ascribing human motives to it.

Scientists still don't know how life came into being; how we got RNA/DNA from simple amino acids.

If they could find even simple life forms on Mars and see how they were different/similar to life on Earth, that might provide some clues as to how life came about.

Also, the more places they find life, the more likely there is life throughout the Universe.

Until they started seeing planets around other suns, we could only surmise how many planets there might be in the universe. Now we have a pretty good idea. Maybe we won't be visiting them soon, but it is something that is nice to know and keeps the scientists busy doing things other than screaming about global climate change.

And even that doesn’t get ET to first base. The whole world had to evolve if it was going to lead its inhabitants to evolve. Speaking hypothetically.

I believe in GOD and I do believe in space aliens. I mean, with trillions and trillions of stars and exoplanets being found, I bet there are intelligent life out there. Besides President Trump, there's no intelligent life in DC...😀

“I’m not saying that Creationists are wrong about everything but I am worried that they’re so caught up in meaningless details that they’re missing the very simple gift of salvation which comes by faith in Christ alone.”

You only seem to troll creationist threads trying to start arguments, rather than showing any concern that people are missing out on salvation.

Do you think someone can’t be a literalist and be saved? Do you think we can’t both question evolution and be saved? If the answer to those question isn’t “yes”, then what cause do you really have to be concerned with the state of salvation of people on these threads, rather than, say the state of salvation of people who post on gun threads, or post on sports threads, etc? Why the special obsession with creationists?

“Why the special obsession with creationists?”

Because they so closely resemble global warming fanatics with their tortured thinking, deliberate blindness to the reality that surrounds them, and circular logic.

In addition to this is their propensity towards putting God in a proverbial box and then making that box a condition of their faith.

I often ask the question: “If evolution and the Big Bang became proven facts just like the fact that the earth is not the center of the universe would you still believe in God?”

The correct answer is “Yes” and it never fails to amaze me the mental gymnastics that Creationists will go through to avoid a direct answer to the question.

What’s your answer?

I’m one of those who takes it 100% literally.

If there was ever a deception the enemy of humanity, you may know him as Satan, that would trigger mass hysteria and make humanity abdicate total control to his will - it would be “ALIENS” (Demons) showing up in the skies for all to see.

Read 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12.
What kind of lie do you think God would allow an unbelieving world to be brought upon the Earth that could equal the impact of what is written?

IMHO, “aliens” will play a huge role in the end of days that are literally upon us.

Well I understand your points but I’m not sure the best use of our money is to spend billions on a Mission to Mars whose primary purpose is to determine if Mars once harbored bacteria or even now does. I would rather spend it prospecting for minerals. We know those are there. Of course even if we find gold in large quantities that would not make it worthwhile to bring it back to earth but we could build infrastructure on Mars with what we find. It costs hundreds of billions to put raw materials in space so if you have some that are already in space why not just st leave them there? Actually I think it makes more sense to do it on the moon than on Mars.

It matters because the faith of many has been destroyed by atheistic junk science.

I posted this in the categories of culture and philosophy.

I think it’s fair to post this for those subject areas.

That approach is reductionistic, and that passage can’t be separated from Jesus says about Adam, Abel, Lot, Abraham, Moses, David, etc.

Jesus is the Creator and he works miracles.
