I logged on to AMX to express my outrage. Sorry, their Contact link was very well hidden. Their Chat link prompted a reply that it was currently unavailable.
So a few minutes later, I tried again. This time, a new window “random feedback” survey popped up. Great! I got to tell them an earful on their website experience feedback survey.
Perhaps many others did, as well.

I will stop using my company AMEX in the very near future. I talked with my bank today and have already set up another account. The card is on the way.

I canceled my AMEX card just this morning. The rep asked why and I politely let her have it.

That’s only slightly disingenuous, because, as anyone with common sense knows, once the funds go into the Public Theater’s coffers, they mix together and can be used to fund any production.
So what is a good alternative if I cancel my Amex card (I sent them a email threatening to cancel my card if they do not stop supporting the NYC Public Theater by the end of this month)? I am tired of the cards that are associated with airlines that have become so miserly with their rewards. What is the best card that will give me cash back?
