It has negative credibility. The WaPo is the plaything of Jeff Bezos, equivalent to a vandal painting graffiti on the side of a railroad car with a free box of spray paint supplied for his use. According to Alan Dershowitz a president can order an investigation of any individual to be dropped for any reason. He says that there might be political ramifications, but that the president’s authority here is pretty clear.
If that is true, then obstruction of justice is an issue only for those people who mis-understand (deliberately or otherwise) presidential authority.
