The Justice Department announced Wednesday that it will be ending an Obama/Holder-era slush fund that funded radical left-wing groups.

As TGP previously reported, the Obama administration funneled billions of dollars to activist organizations through a Department of Justice slush fund scheme, according to congressional investigators and the GOP was looking to eliminate it. Another win for Americans as Obama’s ‘legacy’ is erased and replaced with law and order.

Weren’t these ‘fines’ paid by corporations? So not really tax dollars, but it should’ve come back to the gov’t & the GOP certainly should’ve stopped it. Sessions & the DOJ should be demanding the money back & prosecuting whoever thought this was a legitimate activity for DOJ personnel to be doing.

What would the Democrats say of DJT funneled billions of dollars worth of fines and penalties won by DOJ taxpayer-paid attorneys using taxpayer-paid investigative resources to the National Rifle Association, or Citizens United, or Catherine Engelbrecht's True The Vote organization?

The problem with this approach is that if a Democrat is elected president they will reverse it.

They need to pass a law to stop it from happening in the future.

To get Democrats on board, the Justice Department should have settled one large case and have the proceeds go to the NRA.

The House of Representatives is the only originator of a spending authorization. If the DOJ was illegally funneling money to outside groups, then Holder, Rice, Jarrett and Obama should be indicted...............

Yes, I agree. But the fact that these dollars came from fines, as opposed to taxes, gave them a bit of wiggle room. Something Congress should address for the future: all dollars received as a result of gov’t imposed FINES must be returned to the Treasury. Period.
