Turkey's parliament is expected to fast-track on Wednesday a draft bill allowing its troops to be deployed to a Turkish military base in Qatar, officials from the ruling AK Party and the nationalist opposition said.
The move appears to support the Gulf Arab country as it faces diplomatic and trade isolation from some of the biggest Middle Eastern powers.

Not really.
People tend to exaggerate about these things way too much.
It’s fun to exaggerate.

Erdogan Calls On U.S. to Arrest or Extradite Fethullah Gulen
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on the United States to arrest or extradite Fethullah Gulen, a political rival and Muslim cleric living in self-exile in Pennsylvania.
Mr. Erdogan has accused Mr. Gulen of being behind the coup attempt, a charge Mr. Gulen denies.
I call on the United States and President Barack Obama, Mr. Erdogan said, addressing hundreds of supporters in Istanbul late Saturday.
Dear Mr. President: I told you this before. Either arrest Fethullah Gulen or return him to Turkey. You didnt listen. I call on you again, after there was a coup attempt. Extradite this man in Pennsylvania to Turkey. If we are strategic partners or model partners, do what is necessary.
Mr. Erdogans Turkey has been a reliable American ally and partner in the fight against the Islamic State. On Saturday, President Obama reiterated the United Statess unwavering support for the democratically elected, civilian government of Turkey, according to a statement. Secretary of State John Kerry said the United States would be willing to listen to any Turkish inquiries about Mr. Gulen.
In an interview on Saturday from Saylorsburg, Pa. that a Times reporter streamed on Facebook Live, Mr. Gulen again said he was not involved in the coup, but did not know whether his followers were.
I dont even know who my followers are, he said through an interpreter. Since I dont know these individuals, I cannot speak to the potential involvement in the attempt.
WW1 was probably provoked by a weakened Ottoman Empire. Italy, only recently becoming a nation, snagged a piece, making other nations scramble to get their piece. The whole area around the Ottomans was a sweating keg of dynamite. The land dynamics are totally different now. So far as I know the present land issues are just between the Turks and the Kurds. Once it starts I expect Turkey to dissolve in a three way civil war.
I believe the first Muslim use of WOMD’s will be against another Muslim group.

“ there are currently 94 Turkish personnel there”
Base was established to counter Iran.
Obama’s dealings with Iran made Qatar, and all the GCC, feel unsure of US support against Iran.
Sounds like the next step is to expel Turkey from NATO. If Turkish troops go to Qatar and are attacked, does NATO have an obligation to Turkey?
