The US ambassador to Britain, Lewis Lukens, directly contradicted President Trump and threw his support behind London Mayor Sadiq Khan in a series of tweets on Sunday.
The top diplomat in London praised Sadiq Khan, the city's mayor, after criticism from his boss, President Donald Trump, over the deadly attacks from the night before.
'I commend the strong leadership of the @MayorofLondon as he leads the city forward after this heinous attack,' Lukens said in a post, quoted on the US embassy's Twitter account. Lukens, 53, also praised the 'extraordinary' response from Londoners and emergency services.

If you read the entire article that is the subject of this post, you will note the following:
“He officially holds the title of charge d’affaires ad interim, a position he assumed on January 17 of this year - three days before Trump’s inauguration.
Just prior to Trump taking the oath of office, the previous ambassador, Matthew Barzun, was asked to step down - as were all envoys appointed by the president’s predecessor, Barack Obama.
So this guy is an “interim” placeholder. I just imagine after his comment, he will be “coming home soon.”

“Part and parcel” is what it is. In my administration every Obunghole appointee would be fired. I have no idea why POTUS Trump has not done this. “Drain the swamp” seems to be a campaign lie. President Trump is highly intelligent and has great instincts but it boggles my mind why he is running with a portion of the Obunghole Administration.
This is why I suggested his transfer to some “garden spot”.
With today’s mediots anything Trump does creates a crap-storm with them.

Sounds like the ambassador does not understand that he is there to carry out American foreign policy for the president, not to take controversial stands in another country. Fire him.
According to a UK paper back in March, President Trump was considering appointing Woody Johnson, businessman and owner of the NY Jets as Ambassador to the UK, but Johnson told reporters that it wasn’t official, and for them not to speculate.
