If you read the entire article that is the subject of this post, you will note the following:
“He officially holds the title of charge d’affaires ad interim, a position he assumed on January 17 of this year - three days before Trump’s inauguration.
Just prior to Trump taking the oath of office, the previous ambassador, Matthew Barzun, was asked to step down - as were all envoys appointed by the president’s predecessor, Barack Obama.
So this guy is an “interim” placeholder. I just imagine after his comment, he will be “coming home soon.”
“I just imagine after his comment, he will be ‘coming home soon.’”
If he is a career State Department guy, I hope he is swiftly reassigned to Somalia or some other garden spot.
