Gianforte up by just under 3% with 29% in. Thinking rural areas put him at 6-7%.

Gianforte should use the ROCKY THEME SONG for his next election.

I agree. I knew the Trump won by using the NYT site 4 hours before they officially called it, because I was able to go to the counties that mattered and Hillary’s counties were all at 100% while Republican counties still had precinct to count.

SIlver just observed that in most places Quist is running either a few points behind where he needs to be, or a fair bit more than that, but in very few places is he either running where he needs to, or exceeding that pace.

Industry is gone in Missoula...no more logging, no mining etc.

Doped-up left-wing craphole university town.

Bloomington has college food. For great Chinese food you need to go to Hong Kong. IU Grad that went to Hong Kong quite a bit.

I spent a few hours in Missoula getting my truck repaired coming up on 40 years ago.

Walked around the town and talked with some of the locals. Great people.

I asked one guy I met about the winters there. His reply was “If you don’t have a woman they’re long, cold and miserable”.

Now it’s pretty much a College influenced liberal haven. I have a cousin who live there, and she is a lefty wacko who worked for Bill and Hillary’s reelection campaign in DC back in 1996.

Plus you can go back now and watch Election Night coverage on YouTube. Its quite a howler; Alex Jones and Roger Stone are particularly good, but it is very entertaining to watch the transition from their certainty of Hillary’s victory in the 7:00 hour to creeping doubts around 9:00 to mass hysteria by 10:30. Rachel Maddow burst with anger, Martha Raddatz bawling, Bush’s warmonger speechwriter David Frum about to eat the table, turncoat “republicans” like Schmidt and Stevens eat crow, and the CBS and PBS gangs look like they are ready to do a mass hara kiri.

Judging from his website, Mark Wicks appears to be what I would call an old-school, 10th Amendment, property rights, fiscal libertarian—as opposed to the open-borders pothead libertarians I'm now used to seeing nationally and here in Colorado.

In the last election cycle there was a lot of talk about the new, left-wing Libertarians taking as many votes from Democrats as from Republicans. Based on a few minutes reading about Wicks, I would suspect that his voters would go Republican if he weren't in the race.

Can someone give me a quick primer here...?

Let me guess...Bozeman, Butte, Billings, Missoula and Great Falls are the obviously big cities.

Of those cities, which ones does Gianforte have a chance of winning? Or which ones does he need to not lose too badly in?

We interrupt this thread to make the following request: Will licensed grief counselors report to the Democrat’s “moral victory party.” Repeat. Will licensed grief counselors report to the Democrat’s “moral victory party.”

And, for the love of any and all non-western Gods, no micro-aggression. No fireworks, balloons, partying, dancing, revelry or talk of “winning” or - gasp! - “Make America Great Again” hats.

40 years is a long time ago. My ancestors were homesteaders in MT. My grandfather settled in Gallatin Gateway when it had the main post office. MSU was a college you went to. Since then Bozeman swallowed it, and now MSU swallowed Bozemen via politics.
