The race to fill Montana's sole seat in the U.S. House of Representatives took a violent turn Wednesday, and a crew from the Fox News Channel, including myself, witnessed it firsthand.
As part of our preparation for a story about Thursday's special election to air on "Special Report with Bret Baier," we arranged interviews with the top two candidates, Republican Greg Gianforte and Democrat Rob Quist. On Wednesday, I joined field producer Faith Mangan and photographer Keith Railey in Bozeman for our scheduled interview with Gianforte, which was to take place at the Gianforte for Congress Bozeman Headquarters.

At that point, Gianforte grabbed Jacobs by the neck with both hands and slammed him into the ground behind him. Faith, Keith and I watched in disbelief as Gianforte then began punching the reporter. As Gianforte moved on top of Jacobs, he began yelling something to the effect of, "I'm sick and tired of this!"
~snip~
Scanlon (Gianforte's press sec) later issued a statement saying that Jacobs "entered the [campaign] office without permission, aggressively shoved a recorder in Greg's face, and began asking badgering questions.
Later, the statement added, "After asking Jacobs to lower the recorder, Jacobs declined. Greg then attempted to grab the phone that was pushed in his face. Jacobs grabbed Greg's wrist, and spun away from Greg, pushing them both to the ground. It's unfortunate that this aggressive behavior from a liberal journalist created this scene at our campaign volunteer BBQ."

Why is this not “Assaults”?
>I dont think your hero will win.
Second...you have no clue who my hero(s) is or are. Politicians don’t usually qualify. If this dweeb leftist, islam supporting POS reporter got in any anyone’s face, they would be a hero for smacking the POS down.
Now, as for hero status that sticks, you have to put down some real dangerous filth. Get busy.
Even if he had stabbed him in the guts with a shiv, and then turned around and shot two more reporters at random while laughing maniacally, I still wouldn’t say that this GOP House candidate actually did anything wrong.
Bitches couldn’t bury Ailes fast enough.
Apparently the lead by the Republican candidate in Montana has shrunk to barely nothing. If the media or whoever can cause a big scandal at the last minute it might turn the election the way they want it.
What he did wrong is doing an act that might cost the GOP a seat in the House. Unforgivable. I gave him money.
Last poll I saw had this candidate up by 6 . With less than 24 hours to go it may be hard for things to change that much. I’m sure many votes have already been cast.
Over the top agressive behavior by the reporter after he was told there would be no interview. The reporter instigated the confrontation. I guess the court will decide if the reaction was justified.
would be hilarious if someone started a gofundme site for the candidate
Well the MSM is the Country’s greatest threat.
Cops issued Greg a citation for misdemeanor assault. No arrest, a paper ticket.
“Play stupid games; win stupid prizes!”
It’s been reported that 2/3s of the state has already voted by mail, I don’t know how exactly they figure that without knowing what the turnout will be.
We need to hope this HELPS turn out Republicans and and/or doesn’t turn undecided voters off too much. And that we’re well ahead in votes already cast.
Hard to predict the effect but I doubt overall that it will be positive.
He asked him politely several times to back off. The guy persisted and got his just desserts.
Is the Sheriff a Democrat?
>You expect your elected officials to “defend themselves” from unwanted questions by sucker-tackling the asking journalist?
Okay, tough guy. I hope this is just an awry attempt to impress other FReepers with how big of a man you are, and not your actual expectation, because that is an incredibly stupid expectation.
PM me for my address and directions here and come at me like this POS did.
Make sure your insurance is paid up.
