Yup, new interchange there now... as is the lovely Flamingo Motel across the road. Became a dropping off point for sex offenders upon release and 2-3 families of illegals in each unit.

Well...eat, I presume? Is that near where they have the bull run? Sight seeing? Beach nearby? Museums? Eat?
I’d definitely want to see the Grand Prix! Saw the one in Germany one year. It was fabulous!

He was asking about Pizzaville. Not Cuban, I think.

The history museum looks interesting. The Barcelona FC museum not as much. I’d rather just watch them play live, although a ticket to a match against Real Madrid might be hard to come by.

In 1973 my wife and I lived in San Antonio. I had a great job but it had no advancement potential so I took a Civil Serice job.
I was hired as a trainee along with a San Antonio native named Peter Gonzales. We both spent the next two weeks doing the same thing.
Since he knew San Antonio better than me, we always ate where he knew the place. For the entire two weeks I never spent more than a dollar for lunch. Also never got sick. Even back then, a dollar was a cheap meal.
They were always pretty good tasting too.

Oh yeah; the Flamingo. In its heyday the rednecks would back their cars or trucks into the parking places to try to keep their spouses from seeing their license plates.

San Antonio has some amazing places to eat. My favorite...and MY’s...is Schilo’s Deli, on Commerce Street. Been there since 1917 and the best deli ever!

You Should Eat In NYC! |
You love to eat, and when it comes to food, you have the widest possible range of taste. Except for raw or octopus. None of that! Ack!
You can be content with a simple hot dog or 3AM pretzel. But when you go big, you can also appreciate the finest tasting menu in town. But no strange sauces.
You are a person who loves to be in the middle of the action, and not just at restaurants. You love bustling scenes of every sort.
You have a broad set of interests, and you thrive when you can visit a big city. You're never bored when there's so much going on outside your doorstep. |

I hope you get to some day! We lived there in Germany when my hubby was in the AF.
It rained all weekend and we were in an Army tent with 2 other couples [and 2 dogs! Nuts!]. But we had the time of our lives!

My wife and I used to eat at an open air restaurant on the river walk. I can’t remember the name but it was good and reasonably priced.

They have a good Reuben and great german beer/rootbeer, fantastic mustard.
A nice change from the river walk.
