The budget proposed by President Trump, set for release Tuesday, is clear from coast to coast to coast: Don't clean up the water.
The budget not only zeroes out the Puget Sound cleanup, but programs from Louisiana's Lake Pontchartrain to New England's Lake Champlain to the Great Lakes.
The information on axing of cleanup money was obtained by the National Association of Clean Air Agencies, and comes directly from an administration document. Overall, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency budget would be slashed from $8.2 billion to $5.6 billion, a 30 percent-plus cut.

mmmmm dirty water delicious. I think this is from the copper river.
Nonsense. President Trump is absolutely demanding a cleanup of the DC swamp.
Dont believe these Lying Leftist Media outlets that proved themselves during the 2016 campaign to be operatives of the DNC and intentional liars. They are presumed to be lying and we should presume what they publish is a lie. The presumption can only be rebutted with the outlet providing clear and convincing evidence they are not lying.
What good does it do to post this b/s from a known lying Leftist outlet other than demoralize the readers? If this story is true and has some redeeming value, at least get the story from a relatively reliable source, not from a known Lying Leftist operative posing as a news organization.
30% cut???
They should only have 30% left, if that.
The States are free to clean up their own waters.
Deporting illegals would decrease pollutants.
The biggest p[olluter is the EPA mining cleanup out wears...
Polluted the entire sw river systems...
Thanks EPA / BLM / INTERIOR
IF every lake, stream, piss pot, etc. was absolutely pristine, these commies would be still preaching the same thing.
Cut the budget to the EPA and our waters will run clean! Colorado?
Oh... Yeah right. Yeah, 30 cut equals no clean up. Liberals really suck at math.
The Eastern-bloc countries, along with the Soviet Union were the most polluted places on the planet.
Wait, after eight years of Clinton and then eight years of Obama, the waters in Ameirca should be crystal clear. They aren’t? First I’ve heard of it!
Bwa ha ha ha ha...
The Left, it’s so fund to ridicule.
Don’t fill the waters with pollution and we won’t have to clean them.Its not clean waters the Libs want.Its the billions of tax dollars and the right to tell us how to live our lives.
I wish President Trump refunded the E.P.A. for good.
“The States are free to clean up their own waters.”
Excellent response.
“Dont fill the waters with pollution and we wont have to clean them.Its not clean waters the Libs want.Its the billions of tax dollars and the right to tell us how to live our lives.
I wish President Trump refunded the E.P.A. for good.”
That word Refunded should have been read as Defunded.Apple auto-correct does it again.
DC disgusts me more than ever. President Trump will sign just about any deal they agree on. When would that EVER happen again? Instead of actually getting things done, they (both sides) just keep tearing the nation apart.
What do they mean by “clean”? For my house I can go through a series of steps. With costs going way up and incremental improvement going way down the further I go
* vacuum/dust/wash once a month
* “ twice a month
* “ once a week
* “ daily
* hire an expert to do it daily
* use industrial cleaning chemicals instead of what wal-mart sells to do the daily cleaning
* install hospital grade water and air filtration systems
* seal my walls/doors/windows like a CDC lab
* add a double door on entry with a shower in between and “clean” clothes required for entry
*...
I have to decide how much cost and inconvenience I’m willing to put up with for the level of “clean” that I need/want. I personally choose to stop near the top :) If I had a child with an extreme illness that required it I may go pretty far down the list.
Eco-nuts WANT to go down the list until we literally run out of money. But how much does the country NEED to be safe? That’s the discussion we should have. Almost everyone WANTs the level we NEED. It should be a story if we don’t spend enough for what we NEED. OR if we spend orders of magnitude more money to get a little bit more than we NEED because some people WANT it. Politicians aren’t “against clean water” if they want to stop spending when we get what we NEED.
Actually, America’s waters are much, MUCH cleaner than they were 50 years ago.
This “Puget Sound cleanup” has been going on for years and I’ve never heard about anything actually being done, just future plans. Same thing with all the superfund sites. Has any one of them ever been cleaned?
