The victims stated 2 (black males) robbed them at gunpoint and fled north on Berwick (Avenue) on foot, the police report stated.”
Another bet I would have won.

Yes he did. That was an amazing run. Demonstrates once again why he’s called the “ice man”.

Is there still a White Castle on 16th and Illinois?

Last time I went downtown, the Castle was still there at 16th & Illinois. I went there all the time for lunch when I worked at 1800 North Meridian. We would occasionally see the TV news reporters there since all the TV stations were in the area.
I ran into long time Channel 13 weatherman Bob Gregory in line at the Hook’s drug store at 18th & Illinois; he was buying a bottle of Kaopectate. I asked if he was feeling “under the weather.”
He didn’t think it was funny.

16th & Berwick is literally on the wrong side of the tracks for those two guys. Closer to Haughville than Speedway, and you don’t want to be in Haughville, sunup or sundown. My mom was born and raised in Haughville and it’s not the same today for sure.
