A royal greeting awaited President Donald Trump Saturday when he touched down in Saudi Arabia, the birthplace of Islam and a leading regional power.
King Salman met Trump and first lady Melania on the tarmac, and walked them back to the terminal on a red carpet lined by Saudi military. The party then held a brief ceremony in the terminal before the president's motorcade sped away from the airport.
American and Saudi flags lined the highways of the country's capital Riyadh, along with billboards featuring Trump's face. Trumpets played and jets flew overhead streaming red, white and blue colors.
The fanfare contrasted with the low-key reception offered to former President Barack Obama last year.
On Sunday, Trump is due to address the global Muslim community in what national security adviser H.R. McMaster called an "inspiring, but direct speech on the need to confront radical ideology."
Before leaving the United States Friday, Trump said he would use his trip to protect American interests.

Btw, I just noticed that her dress is quite modest. That is nice. No headscarf, but also not an in-your-face miniskirt type of thing. Not offensive, but also reminding them that she is an American.
Well played, Mrs. Trump! :)
It’s delicious just to think how all this must be driving Her Heinous into rages of hopeless envy and dismay that the leader of The Deplorables is being showered with honor and respect that she felt entitled to have LOL
Currently, the main issue of consensus is the threat of Iran. The Saudis hate and fear the Iranians who have been trying to topple the House of Saud since 1979 and the arrival of Khomeini. Unless we have regime change in Iran, radical Islamic terrorism will continue. Obama helped finance it with the terrible Iran deal.
Beautiful pic; she is stunning. What a lovely First Lady. Bet someday some of those girls will have higher aspirations for themselves because of having met her.
That picture of Obama’s rear end should be his official portrait in the White House. LOL!!!
Yes! I just realized that.
Perfect choice. :)

Fantastic juxtaposition!
Beg Your pardon....... modern Saudi was literally built by American companies, several of which literally functioned as government agencies. Including mine. I can be said to have a hand in building the Kingdom from nothing to an emerging modern state. I was there literally from the beginning of the construction boom.
My company (as in mine personally) was there building things from 1976 to 1996.
LOL!! If she's not in a straightjacket when not in public now, she will be soon. This has got to be pure torture for her! LOL!
On Faux News they are gushing over this visit!

I have to say, Fox News this morning has been doing a great job of coverage and discussion this morning. Even Karl Rove shared very good and interesting perspectives. Judy Woodruff This talking now and her prespectives are good. Lots of signals and distinctions from the last admin. The significance of this trip is yuge. I thought i saw Tillerson to hold presser at 11.
Saying the amount of $280 Million to jobs
The signing video tells what this trip,is about.....We in return giving Black Hawk helicopters from Lockheed Martin...
Correction: Judy Miller, not Judy Woodruff. Sure wish I could go back and edit posts..
Heh ;)
