As someone who was stationed at our embassy in Riyadh for five years, you haven't a clue about our bilateral relationship with the Kingdom. It has been very beneficial to both parties and in ways that many in the public have no knowledge.

Currently, the main issue of consensus is the threat of Iran. The Saudis hate and fear the Iranians who have been trying to topple the House of Saud since 1979 and the arrival of Khomeini. Unless we have regime change in Iran, radical Islamic terrorism will continue. Obama helped finance it with the terrible Iran deal.

Beg Your pardon....... modern Saudi was literally built by American companies, several of which literally functioned as government agencies. Including mine. I can be said to have a hand in building the Kingdom from nothing to an emerging modern state. I was there literally from the beginning of the construction boom.

My company (as in mine personally) was there building things from 1976 to 1996.
