Hugo Mejia grabbed the lunch his wife made for him early in the morning May 3 and took off for his job at a new construction project on the Travis Air Force base in Fairfield. But the 37-year-old father of three from San Rafael didnt return home.
Mejia and a coworker, Rodrigo Nuñez from Hayward both undocumented immigrants from Jalisco, Mexico who have been in the United States for more than a decade were detained on the base after a military official discovered they did not have valid social security numbers during a routine identification screening and reported them to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

There is, of course, the usual "activists" wailing that they have spotless records, pay their taxes, and the usual blather. Personally, I can see two felonies against each:
1) Entering the country illegally,
2) Fraudulent use of a Social Security Number
But what do I know? I'm just a mean-spirited white dude.
LOL!
Is the wifey who packed the lunch an illegal too?
both undocumented immigrants from Jalisco, Mexico who have been in the United States for more than a decade
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They had documents, fraudulent ones, as do most illegal aliens.
There are NO “law-abiding” illegal aliens.
These guys should have been deported a decade ago and should be now.
Adios amigos.
“The first thing that came to my mind was why me? Mejia said in Spanish during a phone interview...”
Ummm, because you are here illegally? What did you expect you idiot?
Boot them and their families
Plus after a decade you still don’t speak English
10+ years here illegally and he does a phone interview in Spanish?
En ingles, por favor!
He should be thankful he got away with it for so long.
He is/was waaaay past overdue for deportation.
He and all the other illegal aliens (thats right, illegals, not so called undocumented immigrants) should be expecting this!
Deport them and impose a heavy fine/jail time on their employer.
Hmmm, If I am not mistaken prevailing wages on a military base is some pretty good money. I can’t image a contractor would have too hard of a time finding actual U.S. citizens to do the work. I think the contractor needs to be investigated at the very least.
...comfort each other while talking about the recent deletion of their husbands Hugo Mejia and Rodrigo Nunez...
If only that were accurate.
Also, he's been here illegally for over a decade and had to speak through a translator??? Assimilation, Mexican style.
“Yadira Munguia, center, of San Rafael, left, and Cristina Villanueva, of Hayward, comfort each other while talking about the recent deletion of their husbands Hugo Mejia and Rodrigo Nunez, respectively, by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Oakland.”
Well...Fry me a liver!
Warren aka Fauxahontas rips Trump in commencement speech: No one is above the law
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (Dumb-Mass) took multiple swipes at the Trump administration during a commencement address Friday, days after President Trump fired FBI Director James Comey.
Warren pivoted to Trump during a speech at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, offering suggestions for specific causes graduates could get more involved in.
“I’m trying to keep this apolitical but I can’t help myself ... the principle that no one, no one in this country is above the law and we need a Justice Department, not an obstruction of justice department,” Warren said.
As per this worthless $inator, send them back home they broke US laws twice with at least two felonies.
Personally, I can see two felonies against each:
1) Entering the country illegally,
2) Fraudulent use of a Social Security Number
I would add to that list the name(s) of those who cleared that company to work on US military reservation.
If the douchebag(s) couldn’t be bothered to screen for illegals, then they also didn’t screen for jihadscum, spies, saboteurs or any other risks.
The Country needs an ICE headquarters for just CA. This AM I went into an ARCO gas station and the guy in front of me was cashing a check. It wasn’t for his purchase...beer and lottery tickets) at 8AM, it was his paycheck. (likely personal). Wads of money...maybe more than 1 person? No English.
There is a humongous underground cash economy in California.
Just doing the military sub-contracting that Americans wont.
Exactly right! and...
Accept no substitutions!
“I think the contractor needs to be investigated at the very least.”
The first thing that needs to be determined is is the contractor also Hispanic and is he himself a citizen?
I wish ICE would check on the wives and see if they are illegal aliens too.
