Mitch McConnell has put the Senate Obamacare Repeal and Replace Bill in the leadership of Ted Cruz. McConnell has appointed a GOP Working Group led by Cruz to write a Repeal and Replace Bill. This process bypasses the Senate Committees. This new Senate Bill will go directly to the Senate floor for a vote.
real? or fake news?
Where’s the news source for this? Link please.
I read an interview by Cruz some days ago, so the group exists and they have been meeting for some time.
I guess they are past the Mitch McConnell lied to me thing.
Great choice since he led the filibuster a couple years ago.
real? or fake news?
Does it really matter?? Nothing productive will come from Congress regarding Obamacare, it will end up being Obamacare on Steroids with the entire system collapsing as planned. But President Trump could always start enforcing existing law.
I read about 10 pages of our anti trust law before posting this link, it is a Detailed Description of our Current Medical System!! They are ALL GUILTY!
The Sherman Act outlaws every contract, combination, or conspiracy in restraint of trade, and any monopolization, attempted monopolization, or conspiracy or combination to monopolize. Long ago, the Supreme Court decided that the Sherman Act does not prohibit every restraint of trade, only those that are unreasonable. For instance, in some sense, an agreement between two individuals to form a partnership restrains trade, but may not do so unreasonably, and thus may be lawful under the antitrust laws. On the other hand, certain acts are considered so harmful to competition that they are almost always illegal. These include plain arrangements among competing individuals or businesses to fix prices, divide markets, or rig bids. These acts are per se violations of the Sherman Act; in other words, no defense or justification is allowed.

And, if true, bypassing the committees and going straight to a vote is great. Cruz is who i’d pick to do it too.
If it works, it’ll be almost as good a job as when he held off 0bama from appointing a ussc justice.
Yeah. I’d agree. I’m feeling some optimism if this is the case.
“ObamaCare is a stool with four problematic legs. The constitutional leg is the premise that the federal government has the lawful power to regulate the delivery of health care. The legal leg is the premise that the federal government is obliged to provide health insurance to everyone in America. The economic leg commands that everyone in the U.S. purchase and maintain health insurance. And the Orwellian leg says that every physician in the U.S. shall retain all patient records digitally and that federal bureaucrats shall have access to all those records. None of that is changed in the House-passed bill.”
Judge Napolitano http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2017/05/11/judge-napolitano-house-didnt-repeal-obamacare-it-endorsed-it.html
This looks like a no win job.
If True, Cruz should propose 100% the house bill PLUS a ‘sunset’ amendment, saying the laws will all go away after one year, which will give them enough time to think of REAL MARKET REFORMS.
Cruz led the drive to repeal Obamcare. This is a replace Obamacare. Will his solutions find enough support among people like Collins and McCain and Murkowski and Capito Graham? The GOP can only afford to lose three votes.
Good. That sounds every good.
Congress ain’t the problem, it’s lawyers, judges, and the judiciary in general.
From McConnell’s point of view it’s better to have Cruz inside the tent pissing out than outside the tent pissing in.
It's a bit hard to see Planned Parenthood getting defunded in this situation, that's what Collins might hold back on. Also, it was posted in another thread, there is the chance 2 Democratic Senators, Heitkamp-ND and Joe Manchin-W Va. could possibly join the Republican side.
I haven't heard any real stirrings that Graham and McCain are against a healthcare bill and would cross over to the Democrats.
It is a bit of a no win situation OR maybe a win can be put together somehow, Planned Parenthood might have funds slashed but not totally.
Thanks for the link, but your title says:
“Ted Cruz appointed by Mitch McConnell to lead Obamacare Repeal and Replace Senate bill”
I get the impression from the above title that he was officially asked by the Senate Majority leader to lead this initiative.
But I do not see McConnell being mentioned in the article at all.
