FOX News national security expert Catherine Herridge told The Five last night that FBI Director James Comey was fired because he refused to reveal the Obama administration “unmaskers” to President Trump.
The Obama administration spied on and unmasked the identities and conversations of several Americans in 2016 including officials close to President-elect Donald Trump.
That is pure speculation and contrary to the documented recommendations provided by Rosenstein and Sessions.
Herridge is generally not a speculator. If this report is true, then she has sources she trusts.
Someone leaked names to the press, and Comey refused to go after them.
And he continued to drop broad hints about investigating Trump and his supposed Russian connections. He had to go.

I really like Catherine Herridge but it is ridiculous to go looking for the “secret” real reason for the firing. The reasons for the firing were laid out clearly for all to see and read for themselves in the Deputy’s letter. It is just the nature of the chattering classes in the 24 hour news networks to have to go out and invent their own to talk about that and fill a few more hours with useless and meaningless babble.

The person in whom the executive power is vested has no need to know what his executive branch agencies are up to in his name.
“Someone leaked names to the press, and Comey refused to go after them.”
He was exercising his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.
Comey is up to his eyeballs in Clinton’s corruption. He needed firing.
So it seems that it may very well be that whomever requests the unmasking is not necessarily the party who wanted the information since she said she has NEVER made such a request.
In other words, once someone has been unmasked, the documents can be passed around like peanuts.

Comey was nervous at the last hearing and very evasive. His lack of response and used excuses that he is unable to answer due to security reasons. This is BS. It is now obvious he had his talking points for the communists Democrats.

True, succinct and the answer as to why Comey wasn’t fired earlier.
Comey was not right for the job, he was an attention seeker not fit to run the FBI.
I had forgotten about Catherine Herridge. I thought she was being quietly eased to the background because of her age.
She is very experienced. So this may be taking precedence.
Absolutely! Comey was holding a Russian investigation over Trump’s head.
Lately all I heard from both parties was that they would never find the unmaskers and the leakers. This was stupid. There are not that many people who could have unmasked and/or leaked the info. It needed investigating. It seemed like this was going to get covered up by DEMs and REPs.
That is information that is NOT secret to any President.
Why would it be?
There is usually a published reason for a firing and a final straw that broke the camels back.
Comey failed his double secret probation.
