Washington (CNN)Federal prosecutors have issued grand jury subpoenas to associates of former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn seeking business records, as part of the ongoing probe of Russian meddling in last year's election, according to people familiar with the matter. CNN learned of the subpoenas hours before President Donald Trump fired FBI director James Comey.
The subpoenas represent the first sign of a significant escalation of activity in the FBI's broader investigation begun last July into possible ties between Trump campaign associates and Russia.

President Trump is different.
On my way home, I listened to a local conservative talk show host blast President Trump for not having his PR team in place to “handle” the Comey firing and issue spin. He just doesn’t get it.
The President acted on his schedule, not the politics as usual schedule. It’s like that old Star Trek episode where aliens are moving so fast that the crew can’t see them. President Trump is operating on a different level than the swamp dwellers are.
I can see President Trump holding the likes of Susan Riced to account and selling it to black voters as an example of how he treats everyone equally. Many of them will see the logic in it, and as he rebuilds Hellholes like Detroit and puts the willing to work in 2020 they’ll vote for him in greater numbers than the Democrat race hustlers can fathom.
They’ll always be those who cling to the victim card and won’t be reached, but they are beyond the reach of any Politician who doesn’t promise unlimited free stuff.
President Trump is going to defy conventional wisdom again and again, as he has to this point.
