Can I see a video where an actual agent says he wants a metal see thru fence as opposed to a 30 foot high 3 foot thick reinforced concrete wall with towers every 500 feet?

This bill is not President Trump’s. It never was. It is a hold over from last October and belongs to Obama. The Trump administration was able to negotiate additional monies for the military, additional monies for border security, etc.

Outstanding site, “Sundance” was extraordinary during the entire time from when Trump rode his escalator down to announce his candidacy in explaining exactly what would be happening and how it would happen, in exact detail. And he was spot on, and continues to be so now.

CTH was the calm during the storm and continues to be so, his posters are excellent as well.

Try it, it’s very educational.

Reading through your posting history of such a short time, one wonders WTH you are even doing here???

I have yet to see a positive post about our president or anything he’s done since taking office...

Maybe you should just go back to Democrat Underground....

I have said several times over the past 3 months that if people would just wait a few days instead of going off the deep end every time they think Trump is backing away from his campaign words, they would see he is usually correct in what he is doing...

‘They got a down payment on the wall in the bill....but of course the press didn’t share that....’

It sure sounded like it wasn’t being built to me.

Good news!

The picture they were showing was a fence — upgraded, but still a fence. A solid wall has some benefits over a potential intruder can see through. For example, with a solid wall an intruder doesn’t know for sure what’s on the other side; with a fence shown, an intruder can simply look through the slats to know what’s on the other side.

This also works both ways. A see through, sturdy fence allows the border patrol to see who and what is approaching the border.

Whatever portion of the border barrier winds up being a great big beautiful wall that the President has touted will ultimately be limited in scope IMO. A solid barrier creates problems with drainage and movement of small wildlife that the courts will jump on under the endangered species act to delay and stop construction. The barrier they are putting up this morning as we speak is formidable, inexpensive, and quick.

chain link fence,. I expect a frigging big, beautiful wall, not a chain link fence. Hopefully this wall , a proper wall gets built very soon, and it will be a wall which cannot be taken down by the next administration.

It is a chainlink fence, hopefully he starts a proper wall, a high wall, a concrete wall which cannot just be cut easily, or torn down easily.

well said.

I have had many an argument with never Trumpers on here, but this is not what we were told about a wall.

A friggin chain link fence for 40 miles replacing other fencing!!!

8.5 billion for that!!!

Can I see a video where an actual agent says he wants a metal see thru fence

*********

No video that I know of but it’s alluded to in articles. Here’s a couple but no direct name quoted.

http://ktla.com/2017/02/16/as-trump-pushes-for-u-s-mexico-border-wall-experts-prefer-fencing/

snip
One senior U.S. Border Patrol official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told CNN that it’s
crucial to be able to see through a border barrier. “I’m not calling it a wall because we are talking
about a fence that we can look through. That’s what we need.”

Another senior U.S. Border Patrol official told CNN, “I think fencing has worked for us in the past,
but you never want to have a barrier in place that will obstruct your vision, that prevents you from
seeing the other side of the border.”
end snip

http://gsnmagazine.com/article/47902/dhs_secretary_kelly_tells_lawmakers_border_agents

In his testimony, Kelly told lawmakers that the physical barrier may not necessarily be a concrete
wall. Border Patrol agents who serve along the 2,000-mile expanse have told the secretary they prefer
a barricade that enables them to see what’s happening on the other side.

There are few in Sodom in the Potomac that are on Trump’s team. Certainly very few of the former Republican party are on his side. Those bums are all on the One World Government’s side.

Yeah. I was lurking around back then; here and over at Ms. Goldberg’s site. Bush/Kerry was front-and-center, and it seemed like there were FReeper eyeballs everywhere. Lots of intelligence gathering, real-time analysis going on — folks here were getting a pretty well-formed read on big stories before the MSM could even get their narrative downloaded from the DNC. Dems couldn’t fart without FReepers calling ‘em out on it.

Not sure this good shippin’ crew has the mustard to rock it like the crew did back then.

‘What winning looks like’: Trump gets border wall funds, money for military

Washington Times ^ | May 2, 2017 | By S.A. Miller and Stephen Dinan
Posted on 05/03/2017 7:44:20 AM PDT by COUNTrecount

The White House insisted Tuesday that the $1 trillion spending bill includes money for 40 miles of border fencing, as President Trump sought to shore up Republican voters by saying the deal also lays the groundwork for rebuilding the military.

The president said there is “enough money to make a down payment on the border wall,” and said a $15 billion boost in defense spending — without having a dollar-for-dollar match in domestic spending — has set a new standard that will benefit Republicans and the Pentagon.

“This is what winning looks like,” Mr. Trump said.

Republicans bristled after Democrats declared victory on the spending bill Monday, saying they had won every major fight by keeping money flowing to Planned Parenthood and sanctuary cities, boosting spending for the National Endowment for the Arts, bailing out Puerto Rico’s troubled Medicaid system, expanding college aid for poor students and preserving the Environmental Protection Agency’s budget.

“We have more money now for the border than we’ve gotten in 10 years,” said Mr. Trump. “The Democrats didn’t tell you that. They forgot

Last but not least, this budget bill was Obama’s last budget. President Trump’s first budget discussions begin now!

Yeah i would view this as a temporary fence and not a wall.

It’s better than nothing, but it isn’t what was promised.
