Democrats believe they have set the stage to block President Trumps legislative priorities for years to come by winning major concessions in a spending bill to keep the government open.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) secured nearly $5 billion in new domestic spending by exploiting disagreements between President Trump and GOP lawmakers over spending priorities.
Democrats lopsided victory on the five-month deal, which is likely to be approved this week, means it will be very difficult if not impossible for the GOP to exert its will in future budget negotiations, including when it comes to Trumps 2018 budget blueprint.

Who is the leader of the uniparty?
If we get nothing more from him than a Supreme Court that isn’t hard left, it all will have been worth it.
So disappointing to see him running down this path though.
He figured a way to beat the Left and took tons of abuse for it, but now he seems all too content to join them.
Not that I know of.
The host on the show was so pissed at this bill. When the dems are the majority, they get everything they want. When they are the minority, the stupid party (GOP) gives them everything they want.
There is zero reason to expect Trump and the GOP will implement anything stronger against the Dems in September than they have done this past week.
Almost all of Trump’s announced initiatives from the wall to department cuts to beefing up the ICE staffing for deportations or stopping even the small amount of Obamacare spending they say they want to stop have been rolled over on.
If they won’t raise a peep now they won’t in September. And, there is reason to believe that neither the GOPe nor Trump’s Democrat-led WH actually really want to implement a lot of his officially announced plans.
Still waiting for Trump to call out Ryan and the rest of the republican saboteurs.
Precisely. I’m fed up with hearing “This isn’t the hill to die on” from resident cucks..
They just roll over on their backs and kick conservatives, like Juan McCain.
They won’t fight and want Trump to roll over.
I promised to support Trump as long as he fought for us. Here’s a fight and they say, “Discretion is the better part of valor.”
Pussies.
Checking from work and laughing!!
I dont know brother.
He can’t veto and then be overridden. That would be too much of an embarrassment. And a losing fight anyway.
We keep primarying guys and keep losing.
It’s early in the game and we DO have our SC guy and likely others in the first term.
“Feel free to tell me where my analysis is faulty.”
Analysis?...you’re kidding right?? It’s a kneejerk rant! You give yourself WAY too much credit:)
VETO THE SUMBITCH!
Schumer, Ryan, McConnell, McCain, Graham....
Need I go on???
Can’t blame this one on Barry.
And Trump’s own VP says Trump and their team were in on the negotiations.
The roll over of the GOP side of the uniparty is complete.
.... On the other hand ..... Is the President really going to sign the bill .... or use this event to make a UUUUuuuge statement?
..... On the other ... other hand ...... If he signs it .... then we know he he is now operating from the center. And not exactly what we signed him on for ....
...... And on the Other, Other, Other hand ..... The GOPe might actually finally be confident that they can finally work with this guy .....
..... Personally ...... Me is fervently hoping for the first scenario ....
We gonna give you a November to remember
The Democrats can’t block anything but the other Democrats who try to fly under the name Republicans can, do, and will.
And all the republicans who lose their seats will be handsomely rewarded by the money people for doing their bidding while they were in office. Republicans can only financially lose if they vote they way they ran for office in the first place.
We cannot win in the Congress. I thought once that a totally new and different party could make a difference but the people who would run under a new Party’s aegis would be politicians and would find themselves faced with the same implied or explicit threats and reward offers as do Republicans and Democrats. Almost all of them will comply with the people offering them wealth and social connections.
McConnell has been pretty good, he went nuclear on the Supreme Court and he got Sessions confirmed. Not bad so far, this CR is all on Ryan and RINOs in the House.
