Monday on CNNs New Day, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the vice chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, said that he foresees some conservatives coming out against a proposed government spending bill set to come out later this week.
I mean, look, money goes to Planned Parenthood as you said, Jordan said to host Chris Cuomo. Money continues to go to sanctuary cities but no money for the border wall. I think youre going to see a lot of conservatives be against this plan this week.

Either way there is no way to fix the problem any more with voting.
Sure there is, primary half of Republicans with DJT guys. We just need the list of who to start taking down and who to start supporting. People are warmed up about voting, and will do what DJT asks them to preserve the contract they made him.
Because the ballot box is broken. Doesn't work any longer. Only one box left to turn too.
No sh!t Sherlock.
The more things change the more they stay the same. Especially in D.C. The establishment is in charge and Trump will have to use his full powers to force them to do what the voters elected him, and them, to do. Veto is a big stick. Shut down the government if the establishment won’t bend to his will. If Trump doesn’t fight using all the weapons at his disposal, then we can conclude that he’s just another elite.
If Trump fails to veto this continuing resolution he has undermined every foundational stone of his presidency. How can he be heard in September to reverse himself 180° and veto a budget of like kind once again presented by the same coalition, (as you somehow believe it to be free of input from Trump) of Democrats and rinos when he has endorsed essentially the same budget today? That would be the mother of all flip-flops.
He simply cannot do so and retain credibility. By credibility I mean his "focus" as you put it for "long-term success". The whole idea that Trump can swim with the Democrats and the rinos for the first crucial nine months of his presidency and then do an about-face and become a righteous conservative is simply silly.
It is now or never.
Are we supposed to believe the Trump's behavior concerning Rino reform of healthcare is a one off? Are we supposed to believe that the people he has associated himself with, those whom he made you believe were the very figures of evil, Goldman Sachs, have no influence on him? Are we to believe that his daughter and his son-in-law similarly are hanging around for the canapés in the White House and have no influence? We will soon know. If Trump fails to veto this continuing resolution only those psychologically addicted, akin to enablers, can fail to believe that they have been deceived by all the grand promises of the campaign. If, on the other hand, Trump vetoes the bill and takes the case to the country reminiscent of Harry Truman or Ronald Reagan and gives ' em Hell and tells the country he's putting his own legacy and reputation at risk on their behalf perhaps then he can carry the day and perhaps then he will be worthy of belief. Perhaps then he will be worthy of all the adulation he has received for doing nothing more than making grandiose promises.
Do not misjudge me, if he does the honorable thing, I will be his head cheerleader. But do not invert reality, it is Trump's responsibility to prove what he is rather than our responsibility as sentinent citizens to continue to deny the evidence of our own eyes on faith
Excellent post as always. My guess is he’ll sign it with an assurance that the budget later this year will be better.
Paul Ryan, a ka “Santa Claus”, is about to deliver more goodies for the Democrats. All the Dems Leftist projects will continue to flourish with full taxpayer funding, including the hideous subsidy for baby-killing at Planned Parenthood.
However, there is NO funding for the border wall because the Democrats and the GOPe Cheap Labor lobby don’t like that cornerstone of President Trump’s election victory. When is Paul Ryan going to be replaced as Speaker? This is the second year he has been Speaker. His 2016 and 2017 budgets have delighted Harry Reid and Charles Schumer, with the generous funding he gifted them with. Sickening. Why vote Republican next year if this Benedict Arnold continues as Speaker of the House?
‘And thats when PP can be dealt with, the EPA, and anything else that needs to funded, or defunded. You are not waiting for an eternity; you are waiting until September of this year. Sheesh.’
NB, see all of post 56, and take it to heart. It speaks to your issues.
The Swamp will not be drained by the end of the first 100 days. The only people saying it has to be now or never are Trump-haters. Those of us who support him are willing to give him a *little* more time.
Btw, Flaglady, your post 56 is brilliant. Thanks for adding it to the discussion.
I have done so here .
And I have done so here
Spot on.
Unreal that the I word is even a mention, or concern, from “our” side :(
The very mention of that word, with 0zika, and you were an instant racist.
Walking a thin line, indeed.
Bros of different mo’s.
Thanks for the links but I’ll pass. Only a person wearing Trump-hater blinders would call post 56 absurd. It’s first and foremost common sense, and secondly simply brilliant.
We got nothing in this budget- not a bone! I guess your the only one that got a secret Kushner decoder ring? This is a Park avenue budget.
Know- Nothingness

It is Trump against the entire DC Establishment. Ryan hates Trump’s guts. He made that clear in Oct. ‘16. Most of the rest of them hate him too; he challenges their cushy, comfortable status quo.
Ryan got exactly what he wanted in this budget. Now it’s for Trump to decide whether to go openly to war against the GOP, or else utilize the next several months to create a wholly different budget as the first one for Trump’s fiscal year. We’ll see what happens.
I only note that with the Democrats and the MSM brazenly hating Trump 24-7, for Trump to declare open war on his supposed allies might not be circumspect. The moment Ryan & Co can openly announce their opposition to Trump, they will. Then Trump will accomplish nothing for a certainty.
Think about it.
If a Republican Congress were to impeach Trump there would a blood bath in the next election for them and for years to come. In my case there would be no forgiveness. In fact the R’s would probable set off civil disobedience across the country except this time it would be red state conservatives saying enough, we need tar and feathers.
Yea,I know Ryan is scum. If Trump does nothing in the future to correct this, the country will be socialist in twenty years.
The last thing I want is to antagonize you, NB. That serves no good purpose.
Otoh, to be honest I must say this. Contrary views are one thing, and I read many dozens every day. But then there are the views of people who simply and completely hate Trump. Sometimes I read those opinions and sometimes I don’t. In your case, I’ve read enough Trump hate to last me a while.
If you ever make a post about Trump with anything but gloom and doom, please feel free to ping me. I’d find your ideas apart from woe-is-Trump interesting, I’m sure.
