I remember when as Governor of Az, Janet Napolitano would not do anything about the immigration into Az from Mexico and said it was not the states problem, it belonged to the Feds.
Now the Dems want it back in the state’s court.
Braver and braver they become.
Excellent point.
We cannot abandon the only potus who has tried to follow the law in decades.
Send the check but, forget to sign it...
The radicalized judiciary has consistently forced CA (and the Country) much further to the Left than the citizens vote for. The radicalized judiciary operates in contempt of the people.
Agreed.
So what is the administration planning to do about this?
The liberals judge situations based on ever shifting subjectively biased criteria. Depending on whatever benefits the liberal view of a situation, that determines what their criteria are.
So in Napolitano’s time in Arizona, it fit the liberal view to say that the state couldn’t take action against illegal aliens, because it was a federal matter.
Now that the federal government under Trump is taking strong actions, counter to what liberals want to happen, now they have decided that states and localities should be dealing with illegal aliens as they see fit, not the federal government.
Being liberal means there are no consistent standards.
No elected official should be protecting illegal aliens from our laws.
Including the President.
End DACA.
It doesn’t matter the motivation for the judge’s actions.
What matters is the effect. Just like the EO on refugee vetting is no where, so too is stopping funding for sanctuary cities.
Mark my words ... the courts will shut down the wall, too, if the President should ever go forward with it.
Trump needs to figure out how to punch though this ...
Excellent Response.
Got our Gorsuch now.
What they SHOULD do, is to drop the legal equivalent of a MOAB on these activist judges. The problem is that the White House response is being crafted by idiots from the same tribe (=lawyers) that caused the problem.
And this now is the point.
Trump has been been stymied three times on immigration policy by the 9th circuit.
And he has not lifted a finger against them. He has surrendered each time - making wonderful statements that merely point out that HE APPEARS POWERLESS to actually do anything about their usurpation. Does he believe that he will be in office long enough for them to all die off so he can appoint their successors?
Mr. President, it is what you DO when your deadly opponent thwarts you that is important. Your words here mean nothing. They will oppose you to the death. Will you fight back as hard?
Live long enough and you might decide to fight fire with fire. Our country can’t take much more of the lawless side winning these battles!! Ya’ can’t be the only ones abiding by the law... the justice dept is corrupt... the media is not a free press... both parties are in this for themselves ...we were close to being taken over by the dictators of the world government ... there is nothing left to stand for the law except our President and he’s getting the fight knocked out of him ... washington is broken.. by any means, get this rock off our backs!! One thing I’ve learned in my long life... if you are the only ones being fair and honest... you will lose!! Evil triumph’s where it is allowed to run rampant and the powers that be are in with that side!
While we're at it, do a complete audit of past money spent and see if money sent was used for purposes so directed. Since accountability is more important than results, this should take a few years or more. Just always remember, the govt is here to help.
The key to ending this crap is in Congress’ power to give and take away jurisiction of the lower courts. The 9th circuit should be split, and Trump should be given power to appoint a few dozen new judges to the old and new circuit. Then, they should create a special court, all new judges that Trump would appoint, that has original jurisdiction to hear any cases alleging that an action is unconstitutional. Put that court in Texas.
I seriously wish that President Trump would just ignore this ruling.
I also know that would, at this time, be a really stupid thing to do. Not when a large majority of Congress is against him.
