Democrats could filibuster it in the Senate. We will have to wait for the ordinary budget process.

Republicans could pass anything they wanted tomorrow. All they would need is to decide to use the Nuclear Option to eliminate the 60-vote filibuster rule, then pass the budget with just Republican votes.

A little confused as well. How many votes do they need in the House and Senate for this?

The GOPe is against the Wall as much as the Dems are.

This is illustrating why we’ve had decades of promises, and not even a fence.

Our big problem is the (lying) GOP.

Thank God for President Trump.

The GOP does not want a wall or enforcement.
They want to keep the Cheap Labor Express running.
That is why until Trump blasted his way through they have always nominated amnesty candidates since the last amnesty.
This is one issue that he cannot afford to backslide on.
It is what got him elected and will determine if he gets re-elected.
The Uniparty knows that and that’s why they want him to keep DACA and go slow on enforcement.
They will block him from building the wall any way they can.

The Democrats, with the help of globalist Repukes, will fight tooth and nail against any measure that deters their “most” important and largest voting bloc from entering the nation illegally. We all know that. The Democrats are sitting ducks and desperate, but the nitwit and bought off Repukes are doing their best to rescue them.

$2B to kick off wall construction out of a $3T budget is hardly a rounding error. The wall is a political football. Except the GOP is mis reading the situation. It is a football filled with nitro glycerin.

Trump is considered an outsider to the GOP. The GOP is working with Democrats to make Trump fail at everything he said he wanted to do during the debates.

The Jon Ossoff body double is an open borders idiot. He is also a traitorous coward

Where was the Freedom Caucus when Johnny Bonehead was defeated? Why didn’t one of them step up?

Because the Republicans are incomprehensibly Lazy.

Worthy of the Whigs in every way.

They want all the perks with none of the work.

The GOP establishment has made it clear that they would rather have had someone else as president instead of Trump - even Hillary in some cases.

They see him as an intruder; a usurper of their party leadership, and an unwanted reformer of their perfectly satisfactory “Good Old Boy” system.

Don’t you wish they had stood up to Obama’s profligate spendthrift ways as strongly as they are standing up to Trump’s request for small seed money to start building The Wall?

As long as Trump is president they have no loyalty to the party platform, to the party or to their own president.

They want Trump out of there in 2020.

Between now and then they are not going to do anything voluntarily to make his administration a success.

Why if the "ESTABLISHMENT REPUBLICANS" funded the wall, they'd have to give up their gardeners, their babysitters, their cooks, and their housecleaners.
Then they'd actually have to pay United States Citizens to do those jobs, and that would cost them more than they want to pay. < /sarc>

you are correct, everything from obamacare to the budget is smoke and mirrors by the ruling class. Both are said to not being able to be repealed or Changed because of Senate Rules, the Senate Rules can be CHANGED TOMORROW by the Majority Party. see Reconciliation and Baseline Budgeting.

Trump promised many times to get elected to get the $$$ from Mexico not congress, lots of posts here on that

Trump has vowed to force Mexico to pay for the border wall and said Tuesday on MSNBC that the hefty $8 billion price tag “is a tiny fraction of the money that we lose with Mexico” on trade.
“The wall is probably $8 billion, which is a tiny fraction of the money that we lose with Mexico. We lose a tremendous amount of trade deficits. We have a trade deficit with Mexico that is astronomical, much bigger than that. We will get — and I say it also is also part of my plan — Mexico is going to play for the wall,” he said.

I posted this on the other thread running about this subject. It applies here too:

“No, it appears Trump is going to have to wait for the fall to get money for the wall. I am OK with that. This is for the rest of the fiscal year 2017 and Trump needs 60 votes in the Senate to include money for the wall.
Trump will never get 8 votes from the democrats...never.
However, in the fall, if they pass a real to goodness budget, the filibuster rules do not apply and Trump will get the money in the fiscal 2018 budget which starts Oct. 1. Just another 5 months...I am OK with that.”

Exactly right, and bears repeating, which I just did above. So get off your ultimatum insisting hothead raps, you certain politically naive idiots on this thread. Think with your heads, not your “feelings”, just like the Dems do, and for once be politically astute rather than political morons.

NO... Trump is brilliant! He is letting them think they are getting their way. In 2018 when all these obstructionist on the left are booted out of congress he will start the wall...

There are no conservatives in Congress.

Not one.

They are all Communists.

Every. Single. One.

It doesn’t matter who we elect or what we do. It’s all an illusion. The only thing that matters is the second.
