Two inmates received lethal injections on the same gurney Monday night about three hours apart as Arkansas completed the nation's first double execution since 2000, just days after the state ended a nearly 12-year hiatus on administering capital punishment.
While the first inmate, Jack Jones, 52, was executed on schedule, shortly after 7 p.m., attorneys for the second, Marcel Williams, 46, convinced a federal judge minutes later to briefly delay his execution over concerns about how the earlier one was carried out. They claimed Jones "was moving his lips and gulping for air," an account the state's attorney general denied, but the judge lifted her stay about an hour later and Williams was pronounced dead at 10:33 p.m.

Per the laws of this hour, justice has been carried out. To paraphrase Brutus from The Green Mile: "They've paid what they owed. They're square with the house again." May their souls find forgiveness and entry into the place made for all sinners who so come before the cross, and may the families of the victims be comforted to know that due process of law has been fulfilled.
Great!
Either put them in the same box, or the same oven.
I do hope you will read...thoroughly......exactly what these minions did to two women and one little girl
Justice was long coming for their families
I’ll take “What is ‘Economies Of Scale’” for $200 Alex.
Too long
LOL!
Good job Arkansas - way to Supersize execution day.
on the same gurney....oh the horrors
Double header. Good.
One weighed 400 pounds, had diabetes and was considered morbidly obese. Did he die before his time? His victim(s) sure did.
This was justice, not murder.
Does this help or hurt climate change?

Bill Clinton was against death penalty but may have switched position..in 92 this AR
inmate was executed for killing a man then
shooting a cop; he tried to commit suicide
but wound up in a diminished capacity.Famously, he put aside a piece of pecan pie from his last meal “for later”,a sign of his diminished capacity, some said.He also
was a real fatty and it took awhile for them to find a vein for them to use.
How I wish CA could take everyone on death row and execute them all tonight. I’d even let them be on separate gurneys. Just GET RID OF THEM.
In Kalifornia, San Quentin would be required to buy a “carbon offset” at the cap & trade auction! (But only if it was the electric chair and done at night w/o solar power). ;-)
Justice has been served. Due process, however long it took to complete, has been carried out. There is no need for further anger and bitterness. They’ve paid the price. It is enough. It’s all that can be done in this world. I know some won’t be satisfied with that, but it’s an imperfect realm. We do what we can with what wisdom is given us.
Can we call this event a “historic first?” I know the MSM likes to label things “historic.”
The very last person to be executed by guillotine in France, in 1977, was missing one leg. They had to spend several minutes strapping on his prosthetic before he left his cell for the final time. According to witnesses it make a loud noise as he walked down the hall and toward his doom.
Already had one extremity chopped off, and about to chop off another. Something darkly ironic about that...
These savages showed NO concern about the welfare of those they murdered, not for their emotions, their health, or their convenience. Therefore, I wouldn’t care if the state used a rusty bent needle they picked up out of the gutter to execute them.
It demonstrates that law is better than their evil. Than any evil.
I only wish they had been killed exactly the same way as their victims and suffered as much. But it’s a start.
