All 100 senators have been asked to the White House for the briefing by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and General Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the aides said.

The Oval Office reference was asinine to begin with.

Maybe when Trump has the senators all locked up he will tell them “the bombing starts in 5 minutes”

Maybe just a briefing, maybe more...

What’s with all this bussing crap? Who cares about the transportation logistics? We pay these clowns $200 k a year, they should be able to figure out how to get to an office building for a meeting.

Well, hundreds of trips are made per day in that non-navigable tunnel.

Yep. “Bless their hearts”

The fact that the meeting is scheduled on Wednesday and that they are making arrangements to brief the House as well to be briefed by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and General Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff tells me that there will not be any surprise attack by the US or a military response. It is probably in anticipation that NK will conduct a nuclear test tomorrow.
China and Japan have already called the WH asking them to be careful on any response we make to NK. No doubt this will be part of the briefing.

Bring in a couple of big TV cameras.
They don’t have to be hooked up to anything...

There are tunnels between the Capitol and the House/Senate Office Buildings that are used on a daily basis. There is even a tunnel between the Capitol and the Library of Congress. I’ve been in them. There is no navigable tunnel tunnel between the Capitol and the White House.

I hope the Trump people don’t expect the Democrats to keep the briefing details quiet.
Of course, maybe Trump is setting them up to try to find out who leaks phony info to the press.

Again, it’s likely this will be an *after-action* briefing of the night before.

A person can walk from end to end without special equipment. Sewers and the Steam Tunnels are not navigable.

I don’t know how reliable the source was, but I saw somewhere that China was supposed to have warned N.K. that if they conducted any test and any radioactive leakage affected China, China would take action.
Maybe the plan is to let N.K. set off a test and then China could claim to detect radioactive leakage to move in.
