Hershey’s is claiming that its customers have requested that it shrink the size of its chocolate bars, as well as change the ingredients. But I think that, in reality, the company is just trying to save money, by making them smaller, and switching to cheaper, lower quality ingredients. The writer of this article thinks the readers are dumb enough to fall for these lies, but the comments in the comment section prove otherwise.

I believe your take on the situation is the correct one.

For most, Chocolate is a treat. Not something you sit down and eat as much as you can in one setting. In this case calories are the last thing you worry about.

Hersey chocolates will become the Thunderbird for chocolate addicts.

Hey Hershey, the Food Queen and any possible successors were sent into retirement last November 8th.

The changes were inspired by customer feedback, according to Hershey.

I hope the were asking customers of other chocolate makers and not their own.

Never trust Hershey’s marketing department. The marketed the Hershey’s Air Delight product, was just plain Hershey’s chocolate with air holes in it. An regular bag of Hershey’s kisses was 12 oz the Air Delight kisses was 9 oz for the same price. I think it bombed out, because it should have.

.
I haven’t bought a Hersey product for decades.

Milk chocolate is crap!

I hope they go under quickly; shelf space is needed for worthy products.

They should make them bigger, who has bought bags of the mini bars for Halloween you eat hands full of those, but a full size bar is satisfying.

They changed their chocolate in such a terrible way over 15 years ago, that I stopped eating it. It tastes horrible now.

Oh goody! More oxymoronic “fun size!” candy bars. With fewer almonds in the chocolate.

I love chocolate. I do not consider Hershey’s to be chocolate. I wouldn’t eat it. They are making it worse? It’s some sort of fake vanilla tasting plastic already.

Just to make you guys a little jealous.....

My wife and I own a Chocolate Factory in Roswell, GA....

We only make highend, European style chocolates....ganauches, buttercreams, truffles....etc.

Everything is made on site, from the fillings to the chocolate blend...

We have a lot of European (Belgium, French, German and Swiss) customers that tell us our chocolate is better than what they get at home....

Our ganauche is grade A heavy cream with chocolate folded in and then flavored with a liquor, Bailey’s, Ammeretto etc,

Pistachio - we grind fresh roasted pistachio’s into a paste and fold it in... and so on for the 84 different flavors and styles we sell....There is a Yuuuuuge difference using fresh quality ingredients....

Hershey’s is crap and so is Godiva now since they went national and are more interested in shelf life and profit over quality....

Our shop has won a variety of awards and has been featured on two reality TV shows.....

It’s a fancy way of saying.. “we’re going to make smaller candy bars and charge more under the guise of improving the product.”

A lot of issues drive this...

I spent 10 years in the wholesale candy business catering to vending machine operators...

Many companies that have vending machines (most) have to comply with health insurance company mandates to limit things like candy to get their discounts...

Also as the country gets older we eat less and less candy. If I eat some candy, it’s normally a kiss or a mini size...

I can’t handle a large candy bar any more...

All they need to do is make all of their products in the "fun size." About 1" x 1" x 3/4". Not fun at all.
