Mr Macron has been dubbed “chou-chou” (teacher’s pet) by French media because of his unusual relationship.
The 39-year-old is married to Brigitte Trogneux, a glamorous blonde who as well as being 24 years older than him, was also his high school drama teacher.
They first met when he was 15 years old and she was a 40-year-old married mother-of-three.
“He wasn’t like the others,” Brigitte told a French documentary last year, “he wasn’t a teenager. He had a relationship of equals with other adults.” Related articles

At 17, Mr Macron’s parents sent him to Paris to continue his studies after learning about his relationship with Brigitte.
His mother spoke to Anna Fulda, author of the book Emmanuel Macron: A Perfect Young Man and revealed that she initially thought that her son was interested in Brigitte’s daughter Laurence, who was one of his classmates.
“We couldn’t believe it. What is clear is that when Emmanuel met Brigitte we couldn’t just say ‘that’s great’,” she said.
Mrs Macron reportedly told Brigitte: “Don’t you see. You’ve had your life. But he won’t have children with you.”

The couple have not revealed at which point their relationship became romantic.
Brigitte, 64, is quoted in the book as saying: “Nobody will ever know at what moment our story became a love story. That belongs to us. That is our secret.”
What is known is that by the time Mr Macron left his hometown for Paris, he had already vowed to marry Brigitte.
After he had moved, the couple would “call each other all the time and spend hours on the phone”, Brigitte said.
“Bit by bit, he defeated all my resistance, in an amazing way, with patience.”

Macron has a 7-line resume.
He graduated from college with a degree in philosophy. Then he did two additional years to get a masters in public affairs. He gets a government ‘academy’ to study financial management, and interned within the field. He does a couple of years as a financial inspector for the government. He then flips over to work within the Rothschild financial empire, handling a couple of portfolios...very successfully. After five years of investing work....he’s then brought back within the government to be a deputy secretary general under Hollande’s government (note the age by this point, around 34). Three years ago, he was appointed Minister of Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs. Summer of 2016, he resigns....to create his own party out of thin air. At age 39, with no elected position ever in his life...he’s set to become president, unless Le Penn beats him.
His party? Strangely enough...if you took all the tributes of the Socialist Party (already existing), it’s the same party. All he did was leap-frog over all the standing members who’d paid their dues over 30 years to the Socialist Party, and out-ranked him on party politics.
If you were looking for an empty-suit candidate, with zero experience for the job...this guy fits the description to a ‘t’.
This is supposed to represent normality. Le Pen, in contrast, is an extremist.

We’re used to seeing threads like this here, but the teachers are usually prosecuted.
