Erin Moran who famously played Joanie Cunningham on "Happy Days" and its spinoff "Joanie Loves Chachi" has died ... TMZ has learned.
We're told authorities in Indiana got a call just after 4 PM ET Saturday from someone reporting an "unresponsive female." EMT's arrived and found Erin Moran's body ... she was already dead.
Moran shot to spotlight in the early 70s when she was cast on "Happy Days" as Joanie, the younger sister of Ron Howard's character. She continued the role in 1982 alongside Scott Baio in "Joanie Loves Chachi" but the show only lasted one season.

RIP Erin
There was a story here on FR not too long ago about her.
She had apparently had a very rough time. The typical young Hollywood disorder so many seem to get.
Rest In Peace.
The guy who played Big Al in the show, owner of Al’s diner died in 2015 at the age of 96: https://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/31/arts/television/al-molinaro-diner-owner-on-happy-days-dies-at-96.html
It just seems a bit ironic.
Have you heard anything?
From stardom to being kicked out of a trailer park. Few “Happy Days” in that. RIP, Erin.
Erin Moran struggled with alcoholism for a number of years. May she now Rest in Peace.
i’m sad... i saw her on a reality show with Scott Baio a few years ago... it was show about him and she was in one episode... she had invited him to go to a Happy Days signing party, and he did not want to go... he was sort of embarrassed to do it... she was so down to earth and in a way that only a friend can say it, told him to get over himself... he went to it... i liked her...
Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia reportedly are the places the heroin/fentanyl epidemic has hit hardest but I believe Indiana is suffering from it as well. It’s taking it’s toll on all kinds of people.
She was a fairly ugly child on happy days who started to become sneaky hot. But clearly that didn’t work for her. And instead of going on to another career or raising children she chose instead the fascinating career choice of self destruction.
During a time when she was battling her demons, she refused to participate in anything “Happy Days” related, saying she thought her former castmates were Satanists or evil or some such.
RIP. Still too young to go.
People rarely choose self destruction. They fall into it
This is sad, but with all of her problems the last few years this isn’t a complete surprise. R.I.P. Erin.
There goes another part of my youth.
I hope she came to know Jesus before she died.
Am I the only one that gets a blank black screen when I use either of the TMZ links?
The diner was always known as Arnold’s.
Too young. RIP.
Did she ever kick her drug habit????
If Moran was her real name she probably was somewhat predisposed to become alcoholic.
